Dear America - Iowa Doesn't Care What You Think

The point is that the "tougher SOS than most other top 25 teams" you Hawk fans are beating the drum over is going to continue to drop through the remainder of the season, and not just because of the opponents you have yet to play, but because those you HAVE played thus far will continue to be shown as frauds that were unworthy of their rankings to begin with.

Wisconsin's schedule is very easy, they'll continue to win. Obviously Iowa's SOS will drop with the remaining schedule though. Would be great if ISU could get their **** together some day so our SOS isn't perpetually dragged down by playing them.

Iowa's ranked #10 in the nation and you're saying the majority of the CFB world is unimpressed. That's rich. The only reason Iowa falls behind most of the other P5 undefeated teams is that Iowa started the season nowhere near even getting votes in the AP poll while Ohio St. started #1, TCU #2, Baylor #4, Michigan St. #5, Clemson #12, LSU #14.

This isn't that hard of a concept to understand.

I don't know. Who cares? Iowa is 7-0 against a tougher SOS than most other top 25 teams and ranked #10, in a season where they came in as a bottom-50 team and most were expecting 5 or 6 wins at the most. I know it's chaffing a lot of you pretty badly down there that Iowa's a top-10 team, sorry. But the level of stupid and jealousy being shown here is pretty sad.

Interesting. You cared enough a minute ago to make a condescending response to CyFan, now you don't care because your response to CyFan was proven wrong.

I never said 'what JM said'. My point was that Iowa's earned a 7-0 record against an SOS that's tougher than most of the AP top 25. It was in response to a comment that Iowa's undefeated record wasn't as impressive as everyone else's undefeated record. I also said you're kidding yourself if you think the entire CFB world is just as unimpressed with Iowa as Cyclone Nation is. You don't get to a #10 ranking if you haven't impressed at least a little.

How many teams have a worse SOS in the top 25?

There is a new section in the ap poll. Teams that would be highly ranked if in the big ten west. Iowa State got the most votes!

Gotcha. How are you guys and the Hawkeye media going to spin it after Saturday? I don't blame you for doing it now though

That 14 figure was actually based on games through last week (17th) but it looks like through yesterday's games it's still 14 out of the other 24 ranked teams that have worse SOS than Iowa. Saying "most" is a reach, but at least a majority. Obviously our SOS will continue to fall through the rest of the season and others will go up. But the 7-0 record to date has been earned against a solid SOS.

The thread title seems to be contradictory to how hawk fans really feel.

This upcoming Saturday when the SOS will take a big hit
Who really gives a s### about this except all the butt hurt clone fans that can't stand Iowa success of any kind? You guys would kill to be in our position right now- just to jelly to admit it. It's comical. But I'm having a great football season - it's all good in my world-especially coming as totally unexpected results so far. Success you guys will never enjoy in my lifetime. Go worry about pulling out 1 more win for the season. The weathers been great- go enjoy that.

Many of these Iowa fan posts are just like the Jon Miller article that started this thread. "We don't care what you think... but you better agree that #WeAreGood"

I don't care if you agree or not-you guys are bending over backwards to make your point that we aren't. Big surprise.

We're responding to butthurt Iowa fans that feel they're not getting the respect they deserve. Their whining about midseason polls is comical. Iowa fans are getting their shots in now because their SOS won't compare to the other top teams later in the season. Iowa's schedule is a national storyline, not just ISU fans grasping at anything to hate Iowa.

I don't think you'd find a single ISU fan that wouldn't want to be in your position. That doesn't mean we can't poke fun at Jon Miller and Hawkeye fans who claim, "We don't care what you think," and then proceed to whine and moan about a lack of respect.
