Dear America - Iowa Doesn't Care What You Think

7-0 with a tougher SOS than most teams in the top 25. I'll take it. I still think we drop at least one along the way, most likely at Indiana, maybe at Nebby. Either way, fun season for Iowa fans so far.

I love this poser attitude of hok fans right now. The meltdown is going to come so hard and fast if you lose a game. I'll be interested to see how many "it's been a great ride I'm happy" posts there are on hok boards after a loss to any of the remaining opponents.

I really don't think that's true, I think they are enjoying an unexpected 7-0 season. The "poser" mentality that I see from some (not all) are the Hawkeye fans who act like their 7-0 is as good as everyone else's - or, more egregiously, that their 12-0 would be.

Iowa should stroll to 12-0 and then will have its first real test of the entire season in Indianapolis. I expect they will be beaten soundly there but still go to Pasadena. Their fans will be happy and many will beat their chest over what could be the least impressive Rose Bowl season of all time. But thats kind of like the ugliest Victoria's Secret model. It's still good.

I'd rather be disappointed in a single loss season rather than a double win season. Wouldn't you be?

No ****. I'll take 11-1. Pretty funny that some are mocking Iowa because there's a pretty decent chance the Hawkeyes won't make it into the 4-team playoff. Would be fun to watch them as they let that sink in.

Why do you expect a meltdown? I think most Iowa fans feel the playoff is a very long shot and the rose bowl is still a realistic possibly.

Because Memphis would.

The Iowa media has the Hawk fanbase in a tizzy after they started playing the schedule disrespect card last week. Now that's all I see on social media. No new news there, I just think it's fascinating to watch. The fact of the matter is that not a single team in the country would turn down a chance to play Iowa's schedule, and when it's all said and done Iowa might not have a single win over a top 25 team. If Pitt falls out, and there's a good chance they will, it'll be interesting to see the spin that the eastern Iowa media/fanboys try to put on it then.

An undefeated Iowa would probably have a win against the previously 12-0 defending national champs on their resume.

There's exactly a 0% chance an undefeated Iowa gets left out now that the PAC won't have an undefeated team in it.

That doesn't mean I believe Iowa is going to run the schedule, because they won't beat tOSU, but if they did, there's no chance Memphis gets in over Iowa.

Iowa's 7-0 is more impressive than most, if you appreciate Sagarin.

That's why they are posing. Last year before the season it was, "this team could realistically start 10-0", "with this schedule anything is possible", etc. etc.

But this year, with the same crappy schedule and the QB they all wanted (and rightfully so) they are all "surprised".

Pretty sure you'd have a hard time finding many Iowa fans who expected this kind of start.

And yet they are 7th out of 8 undefeated Power 5 teams in the AP Poll and behind three teams with a loss. So I guess most voters disagree.

I should have clarified. Iowa can make the BTT game without playing a top 25 team.

Not really. It just means Iowa started out way off of the AP voters' radar while the teams in front of them started much higher in preseason rankings. Of course Iowa isn't going to move ahead of other undefeated teams who've been ranked highly since the preseason.

I guess the voters must think that Iowa has a tougher schedule than that other p5 team, right?

Sure, Oklahoma State - a team that has yet to play an opponent from the top half of its conference. If only it were in a league with a round-robin schedule where it would play every team and have the chance to either prove itself or be exposed.

No one's arguing that Iowa's schedule doesn't get much, much softer from here on out and Okie State's much stiffer. You're the one who for some reason won't acknowledge that according to a respected, objective source for SOS Iowa has earned its undefeated record against a schedule that to this point has been tougher than most.

NW and Wiscy were both AP top 20 when Iowa beat them. Pitt is now in the AP top 25.

Maybe do a little more research before throwing out your next clarification.

Jon ranks Indiana as Iowa's toughest remaining game. Indiana. Let that sink in. A team that lost to Rutgers. At home.

Pretty confident Iowa's opponent in the CCG will have the ability to prove what kind of team Iowa is.

Think his point was that it's a real possibility that none of those teams on Iowa's schedule will end the year in the AP top 25.
