It's hard to believe that there isn't an underlying reason for positive press revolving around the Heisman for this.

While you can't deny the financial windfall, the intentions leave a bit of a sour taste.

Really? Of all the take aways, this is the one you're going with?

The obvious one? Yeah, I guess I am. It's great the family is getting some needed cash, but completely glossing over the true intentions is naive.
Because you know for 100% fact thats whats going on? How sad of an outlook does someone have to have to point out a perceived negative of a group of people doing something awesome for that little girl.

Are you the one that complains about anything good that might benefit another undeserving party in the process? Do you not donate to a charity if some of the money goes to aid workers?

Is it cynical? Sure. If you want to believe it's something purely good with no other intentions, I'm not going to argue with you on it.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it, both sides are benefiting. I just find it strange to heap praise on what is for all intents and purposes a business deal.

Take a hike, Nietzsche

Lol at this being some sort of Heisman move. The Heisman voters could probably care less what kind of person you are off the field (Manziel and Winston ring a bell?). They will vote for the best player. Awesome move by TCU fans and I will be rooting for them to run the table

Man, that Boykin is a helluva football player. But he probably doesn't deserve the Heisman unless the college he goes to raises some money for a little girl in need.

Says the man with 763 Thumbs up received with 0 Given. Classic.

This just made my day.

I hope TCU wins out. Always enjoyed watching them even before they were in the Big 12.

Intentions don't matter. Cash does.
And so does showing an example to young kids. Athletic culture is on a tettering point. The more good stuff that gets out there the better off we'll all be.

What you are saying is that you are unwilling to give anyone the benefit of the doubt. It must be great going through life with that viewpoint. Is it at all possible that Boykin made the gesture out of the goodness of his heart? That he saw a child in a wheelchair and wanted to take a few seconds to shake her hand? Nope, guess not.

More good news!

After exceeding the first two goals, supporters have now crowd funded more than $10,000 since the fundraising page was first set up and linked around 7:30 last night! Thanks to the 2,000+ shares and about 200 donors!

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out the contrived point you are attempting to make.

I found it slightly comparable that you feel Boykin wouldn't go out of his way to do a good deed, all while you can not go out of your way to acknowledge a good post.

Do you think the family cares that this "may or may not" have been inspired to increase his visibility for the Heisman? I don't care what motivated it, he didn't have to do anything and none of the donors did either. This is something that renews your faith in the human capacity for good...well some of them anyway.
