Aliens?

I'm of the opinion that it's only a matter of when do we find signs of extra-terrestrial life. I just can't believe that as massive as the galaxy is, not to mention the universe that life only developed on one rock.

Agreed. And finding signs of life is different than finding something alive. Not only is the universe unimaginably big, it's also incredibly old - about 13.8 billion years. Entire civilizations could have evolved and gone extinct long before there was any life on earth, not to mention the millions of potential planets where life never made it much past single cell organisms.

In 2019 will be 50 years since landing on the moon. the only reason I'd like to live forever is to experience space exploration. Has man even progressed very far since then? Mars rover was neat but one would think in 69 that we would have a base on the moon by now and man walking on Mars

muhammad isn't?

Except for the part where the aliens release a planet destroying singularity that eats our whole solar system in a matter of hours while they watch for their own weird pleasure.

We must destroy them first.

Does anyone else ever get this mind-tripping feeling when reading or thinking about the galaxy and how small we are in proportion to it let alone the entire universe?

"Space is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space."

I feel like this is one of those things that we all go oooooooo and aaaaaaaaaaa about and then never hear about it again.

I love this stuff. Think how far was have progressed over the last 1,500 - 2,000 years. If this is an alien civilization and were building this that long ago, most likely they could be on their way to us already. Who knows. If they are harvesting power on a massive scale like that from their star most likely their technology is extremely advanced and they are exploring their solar system, galaxy and maybe even outside the galaxy. Amazing stuff....

I think the more interesting question is: What do we do next if these are alien creations?

Good question....I guess we hope they are peaceful? Maybe they have not found Earth yet which may be a good thing.

If this happens to be true, I wonder how long their civilization has been around...did we both start at the same time and they made some advances quicker then we did here? Are they much older or even younger then our civilization? So many questions! Would they be peaceful and help our technology to advance to assist in exploration or are we/Earth just some resources to be used for their needs?
