Playing well in preseason game for the Cardinals against the Chargers. Looks like he belongs in the NFL and could be a very productive multi purpose back.

Is there a thread going for our guys in NFL preseason. Saw AJ Klein was leading tackler for Carolina today.

OP's who start threads regarding former UNI players should be pecker tapped.

Is this a shock to anyone? He ate us up a few years ago but his game @ Iowa last year was beastly. He was the best player on the field and showed his versatility.

Kid is from like creston or chariton i think. So ill keep up with him. There are Harrison Barnes threads so why not a kid we didnt even recruit who is from Iowa who is doing good.

Dislike Farley and his obsession with Iowa and love for Ferentz---but loved watching David Johnson.

I love David Johnson's story, and he seems like a great kid, so I wish him nothing but the best.

He was overlooked by Iowa and ISU, and goes to UNI and becomes probably the best football player in the state over the last couple of years. And he's a good kid off the field too. Hard to cheer against that. Sorry.

It's kind of funny, if he were to have gone to UI or ISU, would he even be in the NFL? With ISU's Oline and Iowa's RB injury outbreak, who knows.

He just returned the opening kickoff 105 yards for a TD against the Bears. And he took a screen pass 50 yards for a TD last week to cement the win against the Saints. Not a bad start.

He had 99 yards rushing today and a TD reception which is good for 9 total TDs for the season. Due to injury, he'll be the Cards #1 back for the foreseeable future. I'm loving watching this kid play for the Cards.

I picked him up in fantasy when I found out Chris Johnson got injured. Did not disappoint.

Yeah, I drafted him at the start of the year when I thought he'd split time with Ellington. Then cut him after Chris Johnson became the primary, but I was lucky to snag him back this past week. I flexed him, and was rewarded. He's definitely the #1 of the future for them, maybe as soon as next year. I'd guess CJ2K is gone after this year, and if Ellington is back, it will be as the change of pace guy to Johnson, rather than the other way around. David can do a lot of things. Big enough to run between the tackles. Decent speed. Good receiver. He's got everything you want in a running back in this day and age. Good for him.

Drafted him, dropped him, and was not lucky enough to pick him back up. The second half of the fantasy season has not been so good to me but it looks like I will squeak into the playoffs. Agree about DJ. Dude has potential to do big things in the league.

I completely understand. I drafted him, released him, picked him up when he had a few good games, released him and picked him up again last week.
