You got some learnin' to do before you're true marriage material. You'll never remember these things but you'll realize that you should remember these things even though you don't want to remember these things.

Thanks to all who have had me in your T's and P's, and I apologize if I've been a little more testy lately, been kind of stressful knowing I wasn't going to see much of little00 and for a while there, not having any light at the end of the tunnel as to when that might be corrected, or whether I might have to start looking elsewhere despite loving my job.

So I am sitting in a cubicle at a client. I was asked to fly down this week because of a project. Yesterday the guy I am supposed to be working with finally set up the security I need on one test system 5 weeks after I requested it.
He hasn't shown up yet today so I have no idea if he did those security changes to the production systems for next weeks testing and I fly out tomorrow morning.
I told everyone when this project started that he was a single point of failure because he has maintained far too much control and claims he is so busy.
If he doesn't show after lunch I might as well leave. No reason to sit around. As long as he put those security rules in I can move forward next week on the cloned systems so I don't have to worry about screwing up production. I just hate having a client make me look bad because he is delaying my work.

Well, he showed up at 12:30. Fortunately I was ready to start testing so we were able to get through a lot of stuff. I fly back in the AM so I guess I can pick it up remotely.
In a bar with $1.75 Bud bottles for happy hour now

This weekend, should I go gamble on greyhounds at the track in Dubuque or go see a Iowa field hockey game?

Yeah, pretty sure i got on around fall of 04 as well. At least thats as far back as i can see, though things on FB are pretty sketchy way back when.. back when the 'wall' was just an editable text box

He promptly got me my food in less than 5min and two more beers + bill was free + a $40 gift card! I can't complain. I said I wasn't too concerned because my plane wasn't leaving for a while and I didn't wanna be that a-hole customer when it was obviously busy.

sometimes when I think I'm getting bad service, I wonder if it's just in my head. Maybe you don't feel that way, but it's validating that someone else noticed how bad it was. Worked out well for you!

Me neither. It's like when I was on the HS golf team. Our only local course was a country club. I could practice there with the team but was not welcome otherwise.
