NBA Draft Lottery

Crazy, came in with the 9th best chance at #1 and go away with the winning lottery ticket!

Hmmmm... Franchise power forward or point guard?? The Bulls already have Hinrich at the point and Drew Gooden & Joakim Noah at PF. I guess they need to decide if it's best to draft by need or potential stardom. (Maybe they could get both with Beasley. But for some reason, I'm not convinced he'll be as dominant at the next level.) Maybe they'll trade the pick... Should be interesting...

Rose, Beasley was just bigger and stronger than the college players. Rose is the safer pick. Kirk H. sucked last year, he will not be in a Bulls uniform next year.

You guys are nuts, there is no way Beasley is not the #1 pick. The guy is incredible, and has so much potential. Rose is great, and will be a solid #2, but Beasley does everything.

think maybe Dantoni (sp?) is rethinking that Bulls offer about now?

Sounded like he was very excited about Rose, called him the next Steve Nash

I agree with brianhos it will be beasley and I am actually excited this year unlike last year (noah, guy still needs a haircut)

T-Wolves kinda get the short end of the stick, there is a pretty good drop off after the first two picks

Typical outcome for the T-wolves. They have to have the worst track record in terms of lottery drawings. They almost always end up below their seeded spot including the times that they have had the most chances. The only time that they ended up as high as 3rd, they wasted the pick on Laetner.

It sucks not getting Rose, but this way I don't have to cheer for Beasley.

Based on percentages, weren't they supposed to get the third pick this year, which is what they got???

Nice to see Freddy though.

I think they take Rose and trade Hinrich off for either another pick to use on a big man or get a big man in return. I'm not sold that Beasley is going to be a can't miss pick, especially since his defense is not exactly spectacular. Rose could be one of those guys that could be a Chris Paul kind of player and Paul was passed up by a few times and bet team are regretting that right now. Utah got a nice PG in Deron Williams at #3, but Bogut and Marvin Williams were 1 and 2 and you can't tell me that you would take either of those guys now over the next 2 picks.

Chicago hasn't exactly drafted smart lately either though. They should have kept Aldridge instead of trading him for Ty Thomas. They also made the boneheaded move of trading Brand away for Chandler. 2000 could have been one of their worst drafts with Fizer, Crawford, and Bagaric in the 1st round, AJ Guyton, Jake Voskuhl, and Kalid El-Amin in the 2nd round and out of all those guys only Crawford stayed in the NBA long and he's not exactly a great player. That 2000 draft wasn't great by any means either in hindsight.

Paxson's job is at stake this summer I think. The draft, trading away excess players, and hiring the right coach are some big moves that could vastly improve this team or hurt it over the long haul. He has a lot of chips to make a bold move now though, the #1 pick could net a pretty solid player in a trade if a big time player is made available and he has a lot of young talented guy he can package in a deal too. Deng and Gordon are restricted free agents so a sign and trade with one of them could be possible too. I think they lock up Deng and Gordon takes a 1 year tender offer because he won't get the money he wants on the market this year.

It doesn't usually work out well for Rookies playing in their home town. Too many distractions, too many hanger-ons. For that reason you HAVE to go Beasley.

I think you take Rose and figure out whether you want to keep Hinrich and make him a two, or move him. Kirk is listed at 6-3...the Bulls have had shorter shooting guards than that do a lot of damage in the past....Paxson, BJ, Hodges...

I think Rose is a sure fire future star in the league. I would not say the same about Beasley.

If I knew Beasley was going to bring a Karl Malone like work ethic to his game (not his social life), it would be a very hard decision. But I think that is a worry with Beasley. I think you might be looking at someone who, once they get the money, may slack off a bit.

Rose is a Chicago kid, he is going to be a star in the league if he stays healthy, he is strong to the basket, he is athletic, he is fast, and he is big.

His upside is far superior to that of Beasley.

And last year, I would have taken Durant #1.

That is true, I hope the T-wolves can start to turn around their draft record. Things haven't been good in the past, especially that whole Joe Smith things

They won't turn it around until McHale is gone. I love the T-wolves, but McHale has had way too many chances. I don't care if he's a home-town boy, it's time for him to go. (how does anyone keep their job after joe smith?)

Hand the keys to Freddy and let's get things turned around. Right now I want Brook Lopez, hopefully he'll be a solid center and let Jefferson just run free...the "safe" pick, if you will.

I am very intrigued by the Italian guy, Gallinari, as well as Mayo. Should be fun to watch McHale screw it up again!

(talk some sense into him Freddy!!!!)
