Recruit Lists v2.0

We only have one juco point guard. Anyway Horne can go play for Kansas States next coach after Weber gets fired after this season. Also i like guys with attitudes that they will beat out everyone so they dont care.

Is it possible that revealing your recruiting strategy in interviews can backfire and be used against you? It seems like that's what happened. I like Horne and think he will be a nice four year guy somewhere, so this is a bummer.

Hopefully this doesn't come up again to bite us. I think everyone knows we need forwards, but he knew that when he scheduled the visit. To me, that means it was used against us on the trail and it worked. I smell a K-State commit.

Since we began recruiting Horne, we have secured Simeon Carter and Solomon Young. We have visits coming up from Malou, Arlando Cook, Romello White and Eric Curry.

If he wants to be an immediate starter, ISU may not be the best situation for him. I think we will land two from the group that I listed, and if we miss on one, we should be in a great position for an immediate transfer next spring.

Unless the coach is lying the kids are going to know the strategy because they are going to ask him about it.

Carter, Young, Jackson, seems like this is going in our favor with Horne moving on. I know he was lower on my wish list than multiple guys: Malou, Simpson, White.

Simpson would be a huge get.

For forwards I like Malou, White and Curry as options. Tyler Cook would be great but haven't heard much on him lately.

Kostsas would be a freaking awesome get bc I bet in two years that kid is a stud.

I wonder if they fill up or save one schollarship for a transfer.

I really like Jakolby Long too

I liked Horne and felt that he could become a really good player for us. He's very crafty with the ball. I think he could have developed into a player that quite a little offense could run through.

With that said, we still have some really good forward prospects that we are sitting pretty well with. There was never a way to take them all anyway. If we can get one of the Juco kids (Cook or Malou) and one of the two HS kids (White or Curry), I think we're in a good spot going forward.

If we miss on both jucos, you would think we would be a prime option for an immediate grad transfer in the spring.

Definitely would take him, I would like to know which side lost interest.

Edit: After reading Alex Halsted's article, looks like we weren't showing enough interest so we must feel good about our other options.

I don't know about that, because when you already have an 'official' visit supposedly set up with Horne, you wouldn't think our staff would expect him to say we weren't showing enough interest (or wouldn't we have cancelled the visit?). But who knows what all goes on behind the scenes. I guess I'm kinda tired of the logic that any player says 'he didn't want to come here because we already got two forward commits". Or already got a pg, and I want to be the 'man'. Then the top teams would never have the depth they do, with even higher star recruits to compete for time with. Would like to hear they want to come here because they really WANT to come HERE, period. Probably unrealistic, I know.

I too agree with everything you said this isn't like going and playing for a nobody anymore. Thanks to Fred and the success we have had we are a national brand. I hate to say it but I feel Simpson has that same type of logic too. Which looks like it might hurt us in long run.

I don't think we lose out on both the juco forwards and as well I don't believe they leave a spot open if they are to be filled still and interest lies they will fill them. But if not then it might be saved for Arlando Cook or a mid yr transfer. Because remember Arlando Cook is high on ISU but doesn't want to wiff commitment until spring so...

I would not be surprised if Arlando speeds up his timeline after he starts making visits. It happens all the time. I think Halstead said that Arlando is likely to visit in early December, but I could be wrong on that date.

I think the key for him will be where we stand with Malou and White who are both visiting earlier. I think Arlando wants to make sure he can come in and be an instant starter (as most jucos would want). Jucos only have 2 years, so they can't mess around too much and ride the pine.

If we get Malou and White to commit, then I think it would be hard to land Arlando. If we only get one, then I think we'll be in it to the end with Cook.

They may hold one for Arlando, but if Malou and Romello White want to commit, we will take them in a heartbeat.

Sorry, but who is scheduling visits soon?

I'd like to know if we have any visits scheduled for Romello White, Horne, or Tyler Cook.
