Cheick Diallo & KU - Ineligible?

Not sure if that is the same link as in the SI GN thread, but according to that article, NCAA has been looking at his prep school I believe.

He's probably the difference between KU winning the Big 12 or not. I read an article that states that KU cleared Diallo (big shock), and Self is confident that the NCAA will clear him too.

This is just like the 10th different thread on this...

Not sure we can have too many on this topic. :-)

My bet is just before conference play.

It's going to take him time to transition to the NCAA, so if that is true and he's eligible right before conference play that would be really good news for us. But I agree with allfourcy, he'll be eligible before the season starts.

He'll be eligible by October/Nov. ....count on it.

Yeah, this is nothing...probably someone at NCAA needed a new Jag or something. "Ring, ring...Oh, hey, Kansas? Yeah, we think that Diallo kid might be ineligile, if you know what we mean..." "No, problem, I'll call Brinks, they'll have a truck over in the morning."

“The thing about it is ... it’s been mis-reported a lot — that there’s been good news, bad news," Self told KUSports.com. "There hasn’t been any news because the NCAA hasn’t told us no on Cheick. They haven’t told us yes. But also we haven’t wanted them to tell us anything yet, either, because I think it’s nice to see how things play out with other kids who went to that school so we have a better angle of what we’re trying to address, than just going in there cold saying, ‘Here’s your stuff, make a determination.’’’

Figure out the best lie.

In all seriousness, for Cheick's sake I hope he is elgibile. For KU's sake....don't care. I don't want an asterik if we win the Big 12.

What position would he play if eligible? Trying to decide the match up. Some of our more experienced players might school the new kid, no matter how talented in high school.
