Recruit Lists v2.0

You don't need to land 5 stars IMO. But we need to do better than what we've done recently. Landing 1-2 4 stars per year and then filling in with transfers and jucos will always be a more realistic option than landing top 15 HS classes consistently
I know I am just saying if Prohm is successful, which again I hope and feel he will be. Then I feel he will have a better shot at landing a 5 star. So purpose is everyone don't see him leaving anytime soon.
As well I feel it would happen it's going to happen at PG. But I agree with you and would be happy with 3 4 star guys and rest 3 star nothing less of that though.

Not to **** in the well, but isn't that how it worked with Diallo? Otz and ISU were one of the first programs to get in touch with Diallo and Self swooped in. As long as KU in big 12, ISU will never outrecruit them. Until then, I hate to say it, we recruit like we do our football players. Beating out subpar d1 and d2 programs for recruits.

Otz didn't recruit Diallo and comparing our basketball program to our football program is embarrassing

I'd be lying if I didn't admit to at least being a little under whelmed by the offers we have out.

I know it's not all about the starzzz, but seems like every offer I've bothered to check on the last month has been for a 3 star player.

Great players obviously come from 100+ ranked guys, but it's fairly rare. I would have thought we'd be looking at more like 35- 100 ranked guys.

Malou, Simpson and the greek freak 2.0 are my top wants out of this class. The kobe in the next

It would have been very hard to just completely enter the recruitment with guys like that as late as we would have had to. I mean we tried to with Jaylen Fisher & Micah Thomas for example and got nowhere. Although 2016 is a huge class for us, a lot of the guys are from the former staff & we've been continuing the recruitment. I think 2017 will give us a better look at the type and level of players this staff will be recruiting. Ideally though I would like us to target guys in the 35-100 maybe 150 range primarily.

Also kind of random but I saw today that Notre Dame has now entered Thon Maker's recruitment. This guys list is so random when he's got offers from every blue blood it makes me want us to go after him hard. I get how unrealistic it is though unfortunately.

New PG Target, recent de commit from OSU.

@coreyevans_10: Backing off his commitment to Oklahoma St, find out the latest on sleeper 2016 guard Tre Evans http://t.co/POxnhOR9kB http://t.co/TLVAglvMWW

"With OK State now in the rearview, several schools have noticed the Oklahoma Wizards product. “I have heard from SMU, OU, OSU, Arkansas, Arizona State, Iowa State, Ole Miss, Houston, Tulsa, Tennessee, Loyola, and Baylor.â€￾ While no offers have been received just yet."

Illinois will probably sell him on being 'the man' , whereas we don't know if Monte will go or not. Hasn't Illinois had pg issues? Hope he picks us, but Chris W must know or sense something to write what he did.

Those are my concerns as well. It would be really nice if Charlie Moore could commit to Illinois & the sooner the better.

Not that ISU has been recruiting Yakwe after coaching changes but Matt A got his guy. Good for him and big get for St. John'sm.

@ASlater247: Breaking: 6'8" 4-star shot-blocker Kassoum Yakwe @KassoumYakwe commits to St. John's #sjubb http://t.co/legiGkcXrF http://t.co/YfktWEpNLA

And imagine that...he is not qualified and there are major questions if he will. Guess all those concerns shared on here had some merit.

Saw that Yakwe is reclassifying & enrolling this year. Maybe it's just me but considering the issues with everyone in his school & that his situation is very similar to Diallo's that is a really bad idea.

Read today about the four schools recruiting Mitch Ballock the hardest. Did not include us. Darn. I know Charlie was his lead recruiter, but I really thought we could keep connected with this kid. But maybe its a given that he wants to go to instate school KU anyways so we put our efforts elsewhere. Idk.

Could someone please list all of the past visit dates we've had and the future visit dates for 2016 prospects. It's getting hard to keep track of them all.

I'd be ecstatic with Simpson, Horne, and Malou. Throw in either Cook and Jackson for good measure and that is a solid class.
