**** Official Transfer List '15 ****

Baylor was supposed to be bad last year. I'll worry about being bad when it happens...and no sooner.

Good point. Why Baylor was predicted to be down was not warranted imo, that team has alot of pure talent, every year it seems.

Xavian Stapleton has visited per Rothstein, transfer from La Tech

Initial reaction, without looking into very deeply yet, is that this is not the quality of player we need to be recruiting at Iowa State. Of course, I'm just going by recruiting rankings, offers, and stats from La Tech.

But, recruiting guys that averaged 15 mins a game, 6 pts a game, and 2 rebs a game at the level of La Tech are not likely Big 12 quality players.

Now obviously, as I've admitted, I have not seen him play, nor do I know his anything about his story, etc.... so I could be way off on this.

I'm just hoping Prohm understands the level of recruitment at Iowa State is MUCH higher than at Murray State. We don't need to take guys that had no other P5 offers whatsoever.

If ISU MBB was a stock and you needed to retire in 3 years, would you buy or sell?

When referring to a better spot, it is about more than 2015-16.

That's a poor comparison. I'd be buying high today, whereas iI'd be buying with nowhere to go but up at the end of the GMAC era. Which pretty much refutes your argument.

So you wouldn't buy. But 2015-16!

I didn't ask what you would do back in 2010. Just as you would not buy a stock at the end of an uptick, 15-16 is not enough to dismiss the challenge faced by Prohm. Once you realize that you are weighting the 15-16 far too much, you will also realize the task facing Prohm due to Fred's lack of recruiting and late exit has put Prohm with just as big of challenge in reaching the tournament in Year 2 onward.

I think Prohm just doesn't want 7 or 8 brand new guys next year. It makes sense to have even practice players that know the system who can show new players.

Brodricks Jones, a 6'9" PF who is asking for his release from his NLI from SDSU presumably due to playing time concerns. Maybe TJ has some west coach connection he could use?
Just speculation on my part but would be a good get and fill a need this late in the recruiting season.

Since he hasn't sat out yet does that mean he would it out this season and be a freshman for the 16-17 season? He would definitely be a nice pickup.

Dude! He looks like he could make an impact off the bench this season and be a starter next year with our thin frontcourt.

Probably a long shot, I'm guessing he'll stay on the West Coast but we could definitely sell him on an important role moving forward and a chance to be on a special team this season

We don't have much playing time for him this year, but the opportunity is there for the future.

Who is your backup for the Center today? Are you expecting McKay to play the full game and not get in foul trouble?

Who was the backup center last year and how much did they play during the conference season?

You could easily carve out 15 min/game for this kid because he would almost be guaranteed to be your backup at the 4 and 5 position. That would allow Nader to start at the 3, which would be huge until we get Burton eligible.

More importantly, he fills one of your starting spots and is a big focus in your front court in 2016.

I'd agree there was no obvious link to ISU during his original recruitment thus a long shot.

A few things that could help ISU's cause in this case:
SDSU could place restrictions for schools on release of his LOI. His offer list was from schools across the USA suggesting he wasn't just focused on the West Coast. This late there aren't many good schools with an open roster spot and the opportunity for early playing time for post players (this year backup and obviously starter minutes then on). Just thinking out loud ways he could have some interest...

He can't go to any MWC schools I know but that's all I've seen on restrictions

I always love the "we don't have much playing time" comments.

The right guys get all the time they want.
