2- Come one, thats just non sense. Im sorry we're not the Kentucky basketball lords like you guys have suddenly become, but Dev, White, Gabe, Uthoff, Gatens arent talented?

And Im sorry, that second point of yours is as snobby as it gets. Youve had a great 4 year run, and it will continue. But to just throw out there that very talented players dont play at Iowa, its ridiculous, all the while insinuating that Iowa State is some bball mecca.

Ill give ya Dickerson. He was quick, and he had ONE game where he shot well, but past that, he always played out of control. Im actually kind of glad he came though. In was incidental, dont get me wrong, but bringing in another PG made Clemmons get his crap together, and actually had a nice bounce back year because of it.

Cartwright wasnt bad, though. Was he great? Absolutely not, but as I said above, for what was asked of him, he did well.

In his career at Iowa he shot 37% from the floor, 25% from 3pt and averaged over 3 turnovers per game.

I like it. The Cy is feeling high and mighty. It's amazing what a conference tournament championship and playing in the round of 64 will do for one's confidence!

If you expect your statement to be taken seriously, you may want to expand on the two word phrase you bolded.
 
A mega-thread for a kid who verbally committed to Iowa? Oh CF, you get me every time. But no, none of us ever act like 'little brother' around here.

Prove me wrong. Name all these VERY TALENTED players that have come to IOWA...better yet...Name some that actually got better in their time there....I'll wait...

Jesus, does everyone have to be LeBron James for you to admit they were good, or even decent? My god. I even said he wasnt great, but for where Iowa was at,and what was asked of him, he did well.

Aaron White?

Being selected for 1st team all Big Ten would make him very talented. Easily improved in his time at Iowa.

Was it supposed to be that easy? I feel like this should have been harder.

I will list plenty of Iowa players that were good. Cartwright wasn't one of them

Are you joking? Aaron White went from a borderline Atlantic Ten player, to first team All Big Ten. Some others? Gabe (who split time with Woodbury, which is why his numbers wont jump out at you), Devyn Marble... Do you want me to go back in history, or just current coaching staff/regime?

Oh I definitely wouldnt have put Bryce in a purely "good category". The point I was making, and sorry if I wasnt clear (I thought I was) was that for where we were as a team, and the talent he had around him, he did well, and facilitated the offense well. I wouldnt call it a strike out on the JUCO front, like you are. Dickerson, yes. Cartwright, again, for what he was, wasnt a strike out.

I'll give you White...he's pretty talented. Although if I give you White as being very talented you have to give us Royce White, Niang, Monte Morris, McKay as being Elite...deal?

And the request was for PLAYERS, not player...​still waiting....

Woodbury SUCKS and because of that you can't argue any reasoning with him playing as your rationale. Marble regressed...

Niang, Morris, McKay as elite?

Aaron White was top 5 in both points and rebounds in the conference. I didn't see where Niang, Morris, McKay did that. Morris led the league in assists.

Elite? I'd love to hear your definition of elite.

I think we have different standards when it comes to talent levels in basketball players is all. It's all good

Ok, Ive seen this come up multiple times... Where did you guys get this notion that players dont develop under Fran? Is Woodbury your only example? List of guys who have improved. Some to massive degrees, some just a bit: White, Olesani, Gessell, Marble, Gatens, Uthoff, Basabe (had a step back Sr year, but improved up until then)

I agree. Its all relative (at least for me). Again man, you have to remember where we started from. Hell, an 18 win season seemed like an absolute joke to think about 6 years ago. Thats why something like a PG like Cartwright being good lol
