Please stop. You are embarrassing other TJ supporters.

Your silly bias and opposition to Otzelberger has little to do with attributes and abiltiies and more to do with a personal grudge than anything else.

Like I have said, I welcome a big name hire. That is the guy I really want. But when it comes down to these 4 non-exciting candidates then I would take Otzelberger. All day. Every day. Sounds like a lot of others in the same camp as me. And very few with you.

I really want to use "let me google that for you" right now but I won't.

As far as Prohm he won out right Conf Titles in 2012 and 2015.

It always baffles me that people that can't use search engines can figure out how to post on CyFan

Here........It distinctly says 1st (West)......that means West Division dumb ***. He won an outright Conference Championship in 2012 and 3 Western DIVISION Champions.

There was a good video on CyclonesTV a few years ago with TJ talking Xs and Os.

I said this in another thread but will say it again. I worry that we really won't know what kind of coach we will get as they lead the team next yr. We were poor defensively and on the glass last yr with Hogue and Fred as coach. I think it will take a miracle to change that

It has to do with what each candidate has actually shown they can do. TJ might be GREAT. He has not shown he is great yet though. He hasn't shown anything as far as being a head coach, where as these other guys, although not as big of names as you would like, have all shown they are capable of getting the most out of there teams. TJ has been a coach for 9 years with 3 difference coaches. 7 of those years have been bad years.

If he's only looking out for himself then why would he help TJ? Would have been pretty hard for Fred to leave BEFORE the Bulls job opened.

Do you now want TJ just to spite Fred for leaving? Don't take it so personal.
Is he helping TJ, or giving generic, rubberstamp comments, and at the urging and help of JP hired about the only assistant coach that would come while it was well-known he was positioning himself for making the move to the NBA?

It is you that is taking it personally. As long as you keep this about business, and not personal, Fred is just another ex-head coach, one that really sucked at his job the last two months and was not good for ISU basketball during that time. He is not some great caretaker of all things ISU MBB. Chizik could give him a lesson in leaving.

Head coaching record[edit]

Hahaha, you are calling him a dumb***? He went 16-0 this year! 16-0. You think they were just divisional champs? Do some fact checking before you start calling people out.

Sorry to jump in on this highly civil conversation, but I really feel the need. Murray state didn't win the conference championship despite going 16-0 in conference in 2015. Yet they did win in 2012 going 15-1. All this despite the fact the color coding on Wikipedia indicated them as conference champ. You know, the same website you copied and pasted this from. No need for a lengthy explanation, a yes or no will suffice.

Curious how you think he couldn't have won the conference in 14-15 while not losing a game? They won the conf tournament in 11-12. Maybe the Ohio Valley split into divisions after 11-12, thus the distinction.

Stormin must be related to Otz or have a personal relationship with him. It's literally the only possible explanation.

How stormin sees himself right now:

My hope is the "National Brand" is someone that matches ISU's brand under Johnny and Fred. CW any chance you can dig up a list of coaches that fit that brand.

Performance next year Is also imperative. Results next year will paint a picture for recruits. It will say you can acheive this kind of success at ISU.

Fred's public comments re Otz are almost meaningless. It's what he says behind closed doors that carry great weight.

If Fred strongly endorses Otz in private to JP get a good staff and sign him up.

Somewhat agree. Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately) we'll never know what those private comments were.

I can't believe these 3 mid-major coaches are the best candidates we can drum up. This is not a sign that it's a better job than pre-hoiberg.
