Official 2015 Hoiberg NBA Speculation Thread

Maybe this was discussed earlier, but Ken Miller was talking about the fact that Hoiberg probably isn't on the best of terms with Pollard, ranging from the whole Bubu thing to Pollards comments last week. It's no secret that Ken is not a fan of Pollard, so it could very well be him taking a shot at Pollard, but does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

Miller is a ****** and loves to stir up ****.

And the only 4 year player for a single coach since Orr.

All I know is that if any truth and Hoiberg has problems with him and how he is able to manage. I hope it gets out so Leath could fix because Hoiberg is bigger than anyone at ISU.
Maybe, but even if there is an issue between the two, many will hand-wave it away as "ISU couldn't offer that kind of money" like they do when Cael leaving "because of issues with the AD" get brought up.

I do wonder a little bit about Pollard's relationship with Hoiberg. Beyond the Palo thing, Pollard's been one of the most outspoken ADs regarding student-athlete benefits, most recently coming out for freshman ineligibility. I realize it's a tough job being an AD at a smaller school in a power conference, but I wouldn't be surprised if Pollard's penchant to air his thoughts publicly doesn't sit well with (former student athlete) Hoiberg and other ISU coaches. Recruits see his tweets (they've even been aired on Sportscenter), they're going to know what's up.

I don't necessarily disagree with Pollard's positions, and I think he's done a great job working the phones and upgrading facilities... I don't want to come off as "Fire JP" if Hoiberg leaves. But it does seem at least plausible that an "annoying boss" could be (not is) one of those things that has diminished ISU MBB head coach to something less than a dream job for Hoiberg.
