GREAT!!! Missed the news about the coaching search firm trip.

Speculation of...

It still surprises me how people take quotes and act as though they are somehow binding.

Hahahaha! Did you READ what I wrote? I clearly stated that that does not bind Calipari ("I'm not saying he always keeps his word")

However, I choose to believe that Fred DOES keep to his word. If Fred puts this type of thing out there, he means it. Hence the silence.

If you and your wife were fine and dandy but rumors kept swirling that you were getting a divorce so you could date the hot new secretary would you say anything? You are unavailable. She is unavailable. But you don't want untrue rumors floating around.

How hot are we talking here?

How much will my pay raise be?

Sorry - you got to be the replying party. Not just that quote. But the Matt Thomas said, or so and so said, or whatever.

One thing is for sure. Fred has chosen his words carefully. "I'd love to..." and the like. He's left himself outs from what is just a P.R. situation anyway.

Wait, just so I'm following your hypothetical, my name is Fine? and I'm married to Dandy?

If this is the case, then my answer is I would get a divorce immediately. No way I'd be married to the he/she.

interesting

i just am confused as ever now. Formally the Bulls haven't even contacted Fred according to that article and sources. Wtf. Wtf would u want to go work for that messed up outfit. They can't even fire or get rid of their coach that they hate. Reinsdorf is a billionaire for ****** sake. Why are they not just firing him and hiring Fred? $9 mil is nothing to the Bulls. They aren't going to get a draft pick they lost all, leverage when media reported they wanted him gone. Orlando and NO aren't giving up a draft pick. Seems strange to me.

Gotta be honest, if Fred goes to the NBA, I could handle him going to the t-wolves. At least he'd be local to me and give me a reason to follow them. If he goes to the bulls, I'll probably barely pay attention to him. I'm not really an NBA fan.

This whole thing is like sitting on your nut for an extended amount of time... At this point, I'd have much rather been surprised and kicked in the junk already. I'm ready to move forward. Wish Fred the best, but really exhausted of being a Cyclone fan. Hoping CPR turns it around as a long painful football season won't help things.

Because the East is an easy path to the NBA Finals to get beat by whoever comes out of the West. Apparently that's a big deal.

I don't know if the article saying the Bulls haven't formally contacted Hoiberg is good or bad. I'm confused, really confused.

The Fred Hoiberg to the NBA drinking game. Get confused, take a shot.

BTW - what's the definition of "formally contacted"?

Never take public statements or things like them at face value.
They've certainly been in contact with Fred's agent, probably for a number of months. They haven't had the face-to-face talk with Fred (possibly) because they still don't have an opening.

Never take public statements at face value. There's always a much more important story that actually means something beyond those comments.
