If you are not familiar with MST3K, they make fun of old movies by adding comments while the movie plays. This movie is Home Economics produced by Iowa State College.

I love MST3K.

"The girls got together for their regular gab session. Time for that all-important question."
"How do Pop-Tarts work?"

I want that video... (the origional, not the MST3K)

Saw that freshman year and about died laughing. I didn't even need commentary to make it funny - time had made that video funny enough!

This one was for the girls only! "Ohhhhhhhhhh..." :biglaugh: This is awesome! Weird to see how the campus looked in the 50s, though.

I saw that on the "Shorts" compilation and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Then my mom walked in right in the middle of it and recognized it. They were still using the film when she went to college.

Great show. I preferred episodes with Mike Nelson, but Joel was ok too. YouTube has entire episodes, usually broken out into 10 parts (1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc). If you get a chance, check out Invasion of the Neptune Men or Prince of Space. Classic.

I knew a guy who worked at what is now the Instructional Technology Center at ISU when they actually gave MST3K that film. I don't exactly remember the story behind how the show's producers got ITC to give them the film, but I do remember they didn't say exactly what they were going to do with it. When the upper guys at ITC found out they were making fun of it (and Iowa State) on national TV, they were pissed. The guy I knew thought it was funny as hell, and so do I. :biglaugh:

Thanks Stumpy...

So I saw a video today that would have been perfect for MST3000, atleast as a short. It was a 15 minute lab safety training video... black and white circa 1974 I believe. Great stuff, extremely dramatic scenes, cheesey and dramatic music and over reactions, everything they like to make fun of. Seriously I want a copy of this VHS tape now, just to make fun of it. Just listening to the sound track you'd think Aliens were invading the earth it's so dramatic!

We bought the VHS tape second hand because we enjoy MST (I hate admitting that) and were totally suprised to see Ames pop up on the screen. There were a few good lines, the high school line and another about the cheerleaders, but it was pretty lame overall.
