He is the real deal. I've heard that he will likely end up enrolling at IC West eventually. Probably iowa's to lose but let's not count out the power of Hoiball.

Either sign on to be a middling Big 10 team with a coach who screams at you, and players who will **** his girlfriend....or play for a perennial top 25 Big 12 team with some of the best fans of the nation, with a coach that NBA teams would love to have.

Tough choice.

Agree. But there have been plenty of guys who we were in on who I knew would absolutely THRIVE in the Hoiball system, yet they chose to go elsewhere. Recruiting is silly. And I'll never understand some of the decisions that are made by these young men.

As we've seen with Diallo, it can be all about the playing time. Or simply where they can be a star, and not a cog. Why does Carmelo Anthony continue to stick with the Knicks even though everything about them is **** ? Because he's the star and face of the team right now. Young basketball players want that. Or so I figure.

Or some will just go where their parents/handlers tell them to go.

Very true. Especially your last point about handlers. Not only is recruiting silly, it's corrupt.

In Carmelo's case I think it is just about cash, but I guess you could say that about some recruits too.

Don't I know . . . Don't I know it. I have to live with it every single day. Joe is a nice kid but the family are heavy Hawkeye fans. They are very reasonable people so I am sure will consider what is best, but if things are approx. equal I am sure would lean towards U of Iowa.

Muscatine is Hawkeye country through and through....

Went on an unofficial to Iowa today! #gohawks @IowaHoops

Wieskamp is good but Sam Ingoli at Dowling is a much better college prospect. Not even close.

Kid is going to continue to grow. Will prob enter college 6'8 or so. He's only going to be a sophomore this year. Has long arms. 2018 Iowa will produce 4-5 legit div 1 kids. At least. Need to start offering some.

This sounds like something Johnny would comment on.

(See the sig below.)

No he isn't. Ingoli would turn 20 during his freshman year of college. Playing with younger kids, yeah you'll probably look good.

My son played and I coached against him in a summer league game two years ago. He was in 8th grade (my son in 7th) and he was very impressive.

Didn't realize he was a year or two older than the average for his grade. Explains some of the physical maturity he displayed compared to some of the other kids.

The 2 programs are far from equal right now. It could get especially interesting for Mad Fran's program after next year.

Seems solid, but nothing about the highlight video screamed high level D1 prospect to me. Matt Thomas looked better on his HS highlight video that Wieskamp IMO
