So I'm gonna hold my nose and buy this thing. These guys should have fought 5 years ago but Mayweather put his typical plan into place... run, run, run until worthy opponent is no longer in his prime, then sign.

I'm hoping for a Pac KO, and think it's possible. Unlikely, but possible. Mayweather will play defense all night and counter, hoping to decision him to death like he usually does. But I see Pac putting on heavy pressure from the start in a way Mayweather isn't used to. Manny isn't afraid of getting hit, and Mayweather lacks true punching power. Pac still has decent speed and obviously brings good power. Would kill to see Pac lay Floyd out similar to how he took out Ricky Hatton. Floyd will run all night though and pray for a decision to be handed to him.

Prediction: Mayweather by split decision.

Anyone else?

I've been away from boxing for a while to be able to make a prediction, but it seems a lot of the talking heads are picking Mayweather for his undefeated record.

What was the deal 5-years ago; was it really hampered just because two sides couldn't decide on drug-testing protocol?

I think Mayweather wins and I don't think it'll be that close. I agree that Mayweather avoided Pacman while he was in his prime, and unfortunately that is what is going to hurt Manny. I hope I'm wrong though and Manny pulls it off.

Floyd backed out of a verbal agreement for the fight and demanded that Pac agree to blood testing at a level that had never before been done, a level that surpassed what they use for the Olympics even. It was a joke. Floyd accused Manny of being on steroids and demanded the blood testing. Then Pac agreed to do it, and Floyd stipulated that the blood testing could take place right up to fight night. Mayweather was running scared because he didn't want to catch Pac while he was in his prime.

Any places in Des Moines carrying this? I imagine there would be a decent cover charge.

Agree 100%. I'm hoping the better man wins and a split for Pac.

Floyd is an all-timer in the punch-blocking dept. I dont see any reason that's not his game plan again this weekend. Im with you. I think Manny wants this, and he's going to be on the offensive more than anyone Mayweather has faced in awhile. I see Mayweather winning, still, but it will be fun to watch. I'm just glad to see a boxing match the average fan can care about again. They go far too long between them anymore.

Manny punches from weird angles but Floyd still has elite elusiveness even at this age. Floyd by UD.

Don't get caught on the Pacquio hype train, Vegas will make a ton off of people thinking Manny will beat him. I'll say with almost 100% certainty that Floyd will win and I'll even go as far as saying there's almost 0% chance Manny will get a decision in his favor due to behind the scenes shadiness.

Mayweather, UD. Pacquiao's weakness is counterpunchers (like Marquez). Well, Mayweather is the best counterpuncher in the business and makes great in-fight adjustments. If Pacquiao does not get to him early (first 4 rounds), Mayweather will have him figured out and cruise the rest of the way. Don't think Pacquiao hits that much harder than Maidana, so power might not be much of an advantage. Pacquiao's power is due to accumulation of power shots, as he lands a lot of them off fast combinations. Don't think he'll hit Mayweather enough for that to happen.

Like someone else mentioned, one of Mayweather's weaknesses is non-conventional fighters. Punching from different angles will help Pacquiao, just like it did for Maidana. He should also try to get Mayweather on the ropes as much as possible (easier said than done), as Floyd's defense is worse against the ropes and he tries to get cute with his dodging and not keeping his hands up when cornered. Should be a good fight. I would say I'm 80% confident of a Mayweather win.

Why didn't Pac just do the testing? I see this stuff from the people who don't like Mayweather but they never have an answer to why he didn't just submit himself to the testing if he wanted the fight. Well, I guess I get the "he didn't want to submit to Mayweather's wishes" stuff. The thing is, Mayweather's the one who hasn't been beaten. He doesn't have to prove **** so he does get to call the shots.

Friend is buying. Will pay him $$ to help cover the PPV cost.

Bars are gonna be packed and charging covers and likely requiring reservations if it's a sports bar type place. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint!

Great gambling weekend with this bout and the Derby Saturday afternoon!

Submit to blood testing via the needle up to the night of the fight? That had never been done in the history of boxing and he felt it would weaken him. And yes, he didn't feel the need to fold to Mayweather's demands. Floyd is the one who pulled out. Manny agreed to all the normal drug testing protocol, it was only later that Floyd pulled all his crap, accusing Manny of being on steroids when Pac had never in his life had issues or tested positive. Manny actually won a defamation suit against Floyd for the crap he was slinging about Manny. They agreed to fight. Manny agreed to all the regulation drug testing. Floyd's the one who made the unprecedented demands and pulled out of the fight. Then when Manny agreed to the elevated testing, Floyd added the even more ridiculous stipulation that blood be drawn up to the night of the fight.

Spot on. Manny has to completely dominate for 12 rounds in order to get a decision, and even then it will be tough. If the fight goes the distance, Floyd wins pretty much no matter what. There's so much $$$ waiting for the ceremonial "Floyd Goes 50-0 and Beats Marciano's Undefeated Record", he'll need to get shoveled out of the ring against Pac for anyone to give Manny the win.

Floyd hasn't TKO'd anyone inside of 6 in 10 years, and that was Sharmba Mitchell. I'll take that bet.
Yeah, doubt Mayweather can score a KO. The way I see it, in order of most likely to least likely result:

Mayweather by UD
Mayweather by SD
Pacquiao KO inside 6
Pacquiao late stoppage (10-12)
Mayweather late stoppage (10-12)
Draw
Pacquiao by SD
Pacquiao by UD
Mayweather KO inside 6
