ISU #2 Pre-Season

They forgot to put Hogue for who we are losing but otherwise it is very accurate. I love how they put Fred as returning too . I can't even imagine the widespread preseason hype if we somehow landed Diallo.

Yes, the hype would be there, but we would probably be a better team with the maturity and experience of someone like Harris.

This is old but they did update. They were counting diallo as ours now it is bonus. OU way to low and Baylor at 10?

I've been making fun of Scott Drew for years, but he's starting to show signs that he can actually coach.

Didn't he walk into a Baylor program that was under a lot of NCAA sanctions? Or was he to blame for those

Publicity is fun, but it's kinda hilarious to look at that UAB loss and follow it up with "#2 in the country!"

CBS updated their Top 25 + 1 today too with B. Ingram choosing Duke yesterday.

5. KANSAS

6. IOWA STATE

  • Notable players definitely gone: Bryce Dejean-Jones, Dustin Hogue, Daniel Edozie
  • Others expected to leave: None
  • Notable players expected to return: Georges Niang, Abdel Nader, Monte Morris, Naz Long, Jameel McKay, Matt Thomas
  • Others expected to join the roster: Deonte Burton, Hallice Cooke
Why the Cyclones are ranked here: Fred Hoiberg has turned Iowa State into a consistent winner, and there's no reason to think that'll change next season given that the Cyclones' top three scorers are returning. And that means they'll have a shot at the Big 12 title, assuming their homecourt advantage remains one of the nation's best.

9. OKLAHOMA
20. BAYLOR

Oh geeze; this is unprecedented. I agree about the publicity, but I felt more comfortable when the B12 writers predicted us 8th and 5th in the previous two B12 polls.

If we want to be an elite program we have to start handling the publicity and learn how to play with the target on our back. It is definitely a different mindset.
