What do you fellow Viking fans think?
I think we have the toughest schedule in the NFL. Green Bay and Detroit twice is tough. Seattle, Denver, Arizona are all Super Bowl caliber teams. San Fran on the road to open the season will be a huge game for both teams. Gotta start the season off right! And Minnesota will be really young this year, so this would be a great win. We play all four AFC West teams. This is weird, right? 3 of those teams should be in the mix to make the playoffs. St. Louis might be pretty good this year, but we have them at home.

That's not weird. Every year divisions play each other. If you look at the rest of the NFC North, they play all of the AFC West, too. AFC East plays the NFC East this year. AFC South plays NFC South. etc., etc.

Tough schedule for sure but we knew it would be playing the AFC West. The early buy week bites.

In SF under the lights opening week is cool though!

Based on where the Vikes ended last year, it is a tough schedule. However, Bears will be down, Raiders, Giants, Falcons, Rams, and Chiefs can be beat. 49ers adjusting to a new coach. Try to split with Green Bay and Detroit.

Bottom line, no excuses. Play well and they can still make the playoffs.

I'll also add I'd sign up for 2-2 going in to the bye.

I guess I have never noticed that they do this. Oh well, at least we get to play Oakland.

Every NFL schedule every year is:

2x games against your own division (6 total)
Games against every team in one AFC division (4 total)
Games against every team in one NFC division (4 total)
Games against the teams that finished in that same position as you in their division in your conference (2 total)

So in addition to the NFC North, the Vikings have the AFC West, NFC West, and because Minnesota finished 3rd in the NFC North last year, they will also play the teams that finished 3rd in the NFC South (Atlanta) and NFC East (New York).

There is absolutely no way to predict SOS in the NFL. It's pretty much irrelevant with the parody

I'll take Oakland, NYJ, and Cleveland any day over Seattle, Green Bay, and New England. The middle tier teams do vary from year to year, but it is fairly predictable that the patsies and the good clubs do not.

7 of the Dolphins first 9 games are on the road. Granted, one is a "home" game in London.

I wonder how much the Fins get for that. I've heard the players absolutely hate it, yet for some reason they're the team that gets picked to go. 4 times in the last 8 years, if I recall correctly.

Solid first 9 games should mean playoffs with all but 2 of the last 6 games are home.

No offense to the Vikings...but why not schedule a better game for the first MNF?

Why have two bottom half teams show case your league on one of the biggest nights of the season?

Because it's the late game on the West coast. Most of the country doesn't watch that game.

The NFL probably wants to showcase the new 49ers Levi Stadium where the Superbowl will be held this season.

So the Vikes could be playing their first and last game of the 15-16 season at Levi Stadium......
