Recruit Lists v2.0

I won't back pedal at all, I hope we don't take him and would be disappointed if we did
Have you seen him play? I haven't so I'm curious if you have and know he couldn't help. I for one would be okay with adding an athletic 6-10 guy for rebounding.

I think we're better than this type of recruit and he's obviously a fallback of a fallback so yes I would not be happy about it. We need one more big for next year just to be safe, I would hope we could do better but we wouldn't need him to contribute much

Suppose we do not get a better big man?
MA seemed a better wheeler dealer than Otz who is more of a relationship builder over couple of years.
Suppose the head coach had surgery and the big men were being scooped up fast and this was what was left?
Would you then say no and walk away without filling a scholly for a big man?

I just think it's funny the same people that are concerned about next year when were a top 10 preseason team are the same ones that jump on me for not being excited about a fallback recruit.

We're going to be really good next year...I hope we could find a quality big that would want to be part of that.

I hear you, but today's kids are more about playing time than team time apparently.

I still think we can find a better big at this point in the game willing to buy into the role we need but that's just my opinion

I think we can find a starter, but you're not going to find many grad transfers with 1 to play that will buy into a "role" unless it's a big time blue blood school.

Back to my original point, I would say Morris, Niang and McKay are locks to start. Between Cooke, Thomas and Naz, the 2 spot is pretty safe obviously.

But that still leaves one more spot that Nader, and eventually Burton will be competing for. But why can't we try to land a 3/4 that can start at that spot? Of course we would start Diallo somehow, so why are we sure that anyone we land has to come off the bench?

This is a great post. And to those saying Ike is a backup plan and we are desperate, come on...it looks like we are exploring options out there and if we decide he is a fit, we go for him.... Some of the people here must be former high level high school, NCAA, and NBA coaches or talent scouts based on their knowledge of players ability and ceiling...geez

If we don't land anybody for that 3/4 spot, I'm confident in Nader's abilities. Give him this offseason to work on improving his outside shot and get more comfortable and I think he will be the player that a lot of us were expecting out of him. He's strong and can leap and has a solid shot. If he ends up with that starting job I would think it would give him that little boost he needs to be a great player for us.

I agree, I think Nader had proven himself worthy of a starting spot. Doesn't mean he cant split time with a 3/4 should we recruit one.
