Chieck Diallo rumors

Oh, okay.

I have a hard time believing that has nothing to do with it, however. After all, this is the same guy who hired Matt Abdelmassih.

Matt is a perfect hire regardless of Diallo.

I still think we shouldn't give up on going after 5's. If LSU can do it with a horrible program getting Ben Simmons, Hoiberg will should be able to pull off a few of them.

LSU had an advantage in recruiting Simmons:
"LSU associate head coach David Patrick is Simmons' godfather, and it's not a simply relationship of convenience. Patrick is an Australian native who played basketball in the U.S. and has coached here since he graduating, establishing a pipeline to his home land."

ISU scores more points and had more possessions so your stats are not exactly that relevant here. Iowa State averaged 79 points per game. KU 71. So in that category, the loses in production are the same.

Thanks and BDJ stats were sliding at the end of the season and his attitude put his butt on the bench. Oubre on the other hand was becoming an important piece of the puzzle for KU. Alexander had his NCAA issues and would have been a dominant post this season. Hogue was good, but think Burton and Nader will fill that spot. We don't have to recruit to fill any major holes, but will bring in depth and future players who can put an ***** whipping on KU..

Agree with you from an Iowa St perspective, but losing Alexander was best case scenario for Ku. He was not good, and that scholarship will be much better utilized next season.

I do think, depending on who Ku brings in, the loss of Oubre will hurt them quite a bit. He was by far their most athletic player last year, and their most natural offensive player, that could create his own shot.

If they don't bring in a guy like Brown, their backcourt could really struggle at times. However, if they get Diallo, their front court will be much improved.

Then ISU loses 30% of their scoring while Kansas loses 22%. Still not the same.

Was BDJ slipping more than Cliff, who didn't even PLAY the last 8 games of the year? And Oubre didn't break 10 points his last four games, either. Still lot losing more than ISU. Hogue will be tough to replace, not only in production but in leadership and attitude.

No, but losing Alexander is a lot bigger piece of next years puzzle for KU than BDJ was going to be for us..and yes Oubre didn't score well in their last games..How'd KU do? Hogue could have an off night and someone else picked it up..Doesn't matter. .we've had KU's # the last couple seasons and tuco can suck on that..2 years us knocking you out of the Big 12 tournament. ..bite me

Ummmm.

ISU:
Hogue: 11.6 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 1.0 apg
BDJ: 10.5 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.1 apg
Edozie: 1.0 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.1 apg
Custer: 1.1 ppg, 0.4 rpg, 0.7 apg

Total: 24.2ppg, 15.0 rpg, 3.9 apg

KU:
Oubre: 9.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 0.8 apg
Alexander: 7.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.4 apg
Garrett: 0.2 ppg, 0.2 rpg, 0.1 apg

Total: 16.6 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 1.3 apg

So, no. ISU doesn't lose near what Kansas loses. They lose much MORE than what Kansas loses.

Where did you get these stats, they are not even correct. Hogue only average 9.3 points per game not 11.6. He averaged 4.9 rebounds per game not 8.4.

These are called factoids....facts that are not necessarily true. :-)

The stats for BDJ are so skewed. He averaged double digit points because he was good at the start of the year. By the end he barely even played. Hogue's stats are also skewed because his production went way down due to McKat and playing poorly. You can also state that losing Edozie is losing a point a game, but he didn't even play much in conference. Get your facts straight, tuco.

Please also stop turning everything into a Kansas love bonerfest. You can do that on the Phog site.

So, that's how it is done. You just hire all of your competitors' assistant coaches who are the lead recruiters for your main prospect.

Stop with the conspiracy theories. So are they going to fire these guys and get new ones with connections next year? This guy has been a head coach and an assistant at Kentucky and has strong ties to the area. Looks like a natural to me.

My gosh, some of you don't take rejection well. Matt A was a beloved coach here and for all the right reasons. He was energetic, aggressive, outgoing and did great things for us. But like ALL young assistant coaches, he's on the move. And in this case, to his alma mater in the city where he has connections. So now, we're going to start questioning everything SJ does? Hiring Mullin will most likely be a home run for him along the lines of us hiring Fred. He is an icon, a Naismith and College basketball hall of famer, has played and been in the front office in the NBA.
