In the big 12 next year. Just watching highlight reals from him, Burton, and cook. Him and Cook will be the best shooters on our team next year. Guy is 6"8 and has a smooth stroke. Cant wait to see him and Cooke go.

That's what's really made me get over this loss just fine.

This teams good, but next years team is going to be ridiculous, barring any offseason moves.

Williams is a ******* monster. Not sure how his health is/how hard he has been able to go since his surgery, but if he comes back with the same ability as before, he can easily replace Hogue and our starting lineup will be even better than it was this year.

Add Cooke, who, from what I've heard is much less inconsistent than Long and Thomas were this year, and Burton, who is just a freak, and I think this 2015-2016 team could be better than the 2000 team.

They could be good.

I don't want this to sound bad (I know it kinda will) but last year we lost Ejim and Kane. This year we just don't have that kind of talent leaving. **** that still sounds bad - Houge I WILL miss ya!

Yeah, but how is Williams at handshake lines?

Both shoulders tightened up, said it made the shooting stroke even better.

Not bad at all.. We are adding much more than we are losing its a fair statement.

I figure we'll all "cool" it after this year.

Two years ago was so fun... we didn't expect much, Kane was an unknown, and they killed it. Maybe the second best ISU team of all time after Fizer/Tinsley.

This year, everybody seemed miserable we weren't in the top five most of the year. It was a great season by so many metrics but ended badly and with bad effort. What a tease. CW and friends (and, hell, Fred, too) were stoking the hype train the whole way, however.

Next year I have to figure we'll be more subdued. This loss sucks. The roster has unknowns, but we're bringing back our new all-C/AA-caliber Kane/Morris and Ejim/Niang with plenty of new, exciting faces that are probably better than our existing rotational players. Fred keeps upgrading. I think everybody will be a little more cautious thins time after expectations became a weight this year. Some of the ******* bandwagon fans will jump off, too, which might make this place a little more peaceful at times.

By the time football is winding down, we'll all be desperate to see 'em play Colorado.

We finished the regular season ranked #9 and lose Hogue and BDJ. I know the loss is disappointing, but not much is unrealistic for next year.

Expectations should be high for the team. We shouldn't have high expectations for somebody that hasn't played competitive basketball in a year and will be adjusting to D1/Big 12 basketball.

We need a big wing who can shoot.
We need a combo guard who can shoot.
Those two, if healthy. and Burton seem like a good chance to fill those needs.

I think Burton is going to be that meanstreak that's been missing with the loss of Kane. Guy is just a bull and can throw it downnnnn. He's got some freakish athleticism. I hope Cooke heals well cause he, plus Naz, plus Thomas could be the perimeter consistency that was missing this year. This year when Thomas and Naz were slumping at the same time we relied on Georges and Hogue to shoot a lot more than they probably should. Niang is a solid shooter, but that aspect of his game should really only be used to keep the defense honest so he can put clown shoes on them in the lane. Hogue played more like a wing than a true forward, which I think diminished his role a bit unfortunately.

I have to admit I don't know much about Williams? I see he's listed as a power forward? What type of game does he play? Power game? Back to the basket? Mid range? Outside shooter?

Let's not lose stupid conference games next year. Winning the Big 12 season will be even better prep for the NCAAs than winning the Big 12 tournament.

**** like this is why many thought BDJ was the next Kane and Nader would be a starter day 1. I'm guessing Cooke plays decently in the noncon, slumps at the start of conference play causing everyone who thought something like this to go apeshit on him, and then figures it out. Williams probably wont get the minutes people think he should get because he'll be battling with Georges, McKay, Nader, and Diallo(hopefully) for playing time and then we'll get threads asking why Williams isn't starting or why he isn't the first man off the bench. I honestly can't wait to see what the expectations are for Diallo should he come here.

Enjoy this why you can Darian. Just wait until you have a couple TOs and a mid-range shot attempt to go with your double-double.

Williams is not a shooting guard/wing. His combo of size and shooting should help though.

I think he'll be very good, but maybe we don't have to start the mega-hyping today.

Meh, I'm just hyped to watch basketball again. Worst part about losing in the tourney is that it's now officially the offseason until November. Bleh.
