I didn't leave Drake out disrespectfully as I feel their on the right track, but more to look at CFH and Fran head to head and through in UNI as all 3 made it to the dance this year. Just the numbers to compare to:

Fran is 3rd place in each category if you do simple averaging with exception to NCAA appearances, at least they made it to the "Play in Game" last year vs. UNI till this year.

Awesome but 1 thing. We went 28-8 in 2013-14

are pre and post season W/Ls in there? trying to figure out how we have played two more games than last year and in 2012-13 Iowa played 38 games.

IA played 5 (?) games in the NIT that year, which I included in over-all but left out of NCAA

A bit off topic, but I thought I'd come by and say congrats on a great season so far and good luck in the tourney from Cedar Falls and Panther Nation! Hope to see you in the Final 4.

Not surprising.

I caught a little bit of the Sports Fanatic show today and it appears that someone might have said Hoiberg is an elite coach. And apparently Iowa fans found that silly since they've been coming from behind.

Leave it to Iowa fans to take 5 years of results and only focus on the last 5 games. There have been plenty of games this year where Iowa State came out strong at the beginning of the game. I'm thinking Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas at home, both West Virginia games, both Oklahoma State games, @K-State, Baylor (obviously those last two had trouble at the end of the game).

Welcome to CF, and best wishes to UNI and congrats to a great season!

Hahaha. And this truly shows the lack of basketball know-how by these jokers. Not only in using an isolated small sample size, but looking at it so wrongly at that! I personally see the the comebacks as proof of Fred's amazing ability to make adjustments in-game. Several so called experts have called CFH as one of the elite in-game coaches in the country too FWIW.

So leading your team back from double-digit margins to win games isn't elite coaching? Sounds like classic Tavern Hok logic to me.

He's just a good 2nd half coach, don't you know?!?,

It's silly on its merit, but when you realize that Hoiberg has taken 4 straight teams to NCAA tournaments, he has spent the better part of 2 seasons ranked, his number of wins against top 25 teams in the last 2 years is the highest in the country, and he was 14-5 against NCAA teams this year the argument gets even sillier.

Iowa had a good season, but they had 4 wins against NCAA teams by my count. Hell, I bet Iowa didn't even play 14 NCAA teams.

ISU was only 3-13 in Hoiberg's first year. We didn't play 18 conference games until the next year.

i figured that but then other numbers for ISU post season didn't match up... which is why I asked.

First post with some background work onto a spreadsheet, guess I'm not worthy, but it was fun to review how far behind the hawkeyes are from our Cyclones along the way!

Texas both times. We actually struggled at the end vs them in hilton

Even more impressive when you consider how tough the conference schedule has been since it went to 10 teams.
