ISU 12th in new AP

I usually root for UNI (unless they're playing ISU) but I cannot believe how overrated they are. The only "good" teams they've beaten were Wichita State, Iowa and Stephen F Austin. They beat a 10-17 Virginia Tech squad and a 13-14 Northwestern squad.

Top 25? Sure. Top 10? WTF?

Where in my post am I being an idiot? ISU is 4-4 on the road. That is not good. They lost to TTU. That is pitiful. Those two things alone should keep them out of the top 10. I'm not saying ISU is worse than UNI by any means, but with their body of work up to this point, UNI deserves their ranking.

Two years ago KU lost to an even worse TCU team. Also lost 3 road games. Ended up a #1 seed.

Except for:
Total wins
Conference wins
Road wins

A 6 win team that is 4-4 on the road (not counting neutral court games) and lost to Texas ******* Tech, in the top 10 would be a joke.

EDIT: ISU is 4-4, not 4-8. They have played 8 road games. Stupid Panther education.

Evansville

Whatever, not concerned about this in the least. From here on out I'm mostly hoping for

1. Isu to win out, and
2. Teams playing for 3 and 4 seeds to lose (Utah, nd, ou, unc, md, etc)

If this is a top ten body of work then I don't understand basketball at all. I see one win over a Wichita State team that is vastly overrated. After that, it's a whole lot of absolute nothing.

Now look at this one:

Do you see where any argument for UNI is just a joke in comparison?

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. Point is, that they haven't proved to anyone that they can beat a good team. And WSU isn't good, as they are in the same boat as AIB-IC-North.

1 top 50 win, over a team with 1 top 50 win = top 10 ranking.

I think we should probably be a bit higher, but let's enjoy just another great week in the top 15. The NCAA seeding will sort things out when it matters.

I think last year's squad was something like #15 or 16 at this point, so a lot can still happen.

This team has a history of believing the hype and forgetting that their opponents are also D-1 players who practice when they get ranked in the Top Ten, so something like #12 is great imo. That's still a projected Sweet Sixteen (if going by ranking), which is a really nice season.

ISU should be ranked from the beginning to end this year. When's the last time that happened? '96-97?

I'm guessing the loser will drop faster than veloclone on roller skates.

Except, ya know that pesky little conference thingy... I don't give a **** if UNI is undefeated. They finish middle of the pack in the big 12. Hell maybe even bottom 3.

I think some people are getting Ranking and Seeding confused. Come tournament time, ISU will have a higher seed because of their SOS, BPI, RPI, and whatever other acronyms you want to use. UNI is 26-2 and has won 15 straight. They deserve their ranking. WSU...I don't have a comment, nor can I explain it. If both teams (UNI and ISU) win out the regular season, UNI will remain ranked higher than ISU. If UNI loses this weekend (and I think they do), I think you'll see them drop past 15. Then I expect you all to have a party to wash off your insecurities.

This isn't college football, good wins (which ISU has several more than UNI/WSU or most other teams) trump "bad" losses. Whats weird is every one of ISU's losses was to teams that are better than everyone UNI plays.

Explain to me how UNI's body of work is better than ISU's. I honestly don't think you can. And keep in mind Evansville is worse than Texas Tech. Record may not show it but that is mainly because the MVC is a joke.

They wouldn't be bottom 3, IMO, but they would be about .500 and find themselves on the 7-10 lines in the NCAA.

I think Rutgers's only home conference win is still Wisconsin. Granted, Wisky was without Sleepy, but it still shouldn't have happened on paper.

My only beef with the Tech loss was that it showed that ISU really hadn't responded correctly to their earlier losses when they didn't look good. For now, they've righted the ship a bit.

Who has UNI played ALL YEAR? WSU. That's it.
We have played:
The ENTIRE BIG 12. TWICE.

Again, UNI woudn't crack the top half of the Big 12.
