Just a rant I guess today. I have a great friend who is and has always been a die hard Kentucky fan. His bragging over the last two years has made my skin crawl. We have had this ongoing discussion where I say if Kentucky played in the Big 12 or ACC there would be no way they're undefeated. Of course he says they kicked the Big 12 and ACCs' butts early in the season. I can't argue that because they dismantled Kansas and handled Texas, also they defeated UNC. I don't know if it's because he's my friend or if he really believes it, but he said he hopes Kentucky doesn't have to play the Cyclones. He said we are scary to him. Of course I keep saying that I hope we get to play Kentucky. He thinks Kentucky would be undefeated in the Big 12 or the ACC. I say the level of competition in the SEC compared to the other two conferences isn't comparable. What do you all think? Could Kentucky go undefeated in the Big 12 or ACC?

They definitely could, they are that good. But road trips to Hilton and Phog Allen wouldn't be an easy task.

They have had their struggles in the SEC, they would win any conference they played in but they wouldn't go undefeated. The big 12, with its round robin schedule would be the toughest task. This years ACC is top heavy, Duke , UNC, UVA and L'ville could all beat them on any given night but they could get lucky with scheduling and maybe only have to play those teams once, maybe at home. What's funny is, UK's "bad" regular season last year had a lot do to with getting so many kids back instead of losing them to the draft. This years team will be the opposite, we'll see an exodus like we've never seen in college bball. The draft lottery will be Jahlil Okafor and 10 Kentucky guys.

It's possible they could but doubtful as it is tough to be up for games against tough teams every night without having one where you have an off night. You can have an off night in the SEC and still win by 20 because the opponent is so bad.

They could, but I wouldn't put money on it. It's difficult to go undefeated, and the big 12 is tougher than the SEC. I think they'd get tripped up somewhere.

I am really hoping they go undefeated through the regular season and then get bounced in the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 by a Big 12 team.

The odds of any team going undefeated on the road at Kansas, Iowa State, Oklahoma St., Oklahoma, Baylor, West Virginia, Texas, and Kansas State is really low.

I mean, really, how many tough environments do they play in in the SEC? Akansas and Florida maybe? I doubt either of them compete with the level of Hilton or Phog Allen.

I think they only play Arkansas at home this year. Don't have to play many tough games outside of Rupp.

They'd win the big 12 but wouldn't go undefeated. More places in the big 12 where an off night means a loss than in the SEC

I think UVA and Duke are very capable of beating them. Especially if they got them on their home court I would take the home team.

I also feel that the round-robin of the Big 12 would get them too. They did dismantle Kansas, but I feel that if Self had a chance to prepare his team to play them later in the season with a bit of a grudge after such a drubbing it would be awful tough to sweep them. It's all semantics at this point though. They proved their superiority to the Big 12 with 2 impressive wins (the Kansas one embarrassingly so) against two of the top tier teams in the league.

I'm still holding out hope that one of the remaining SEC teams catches them on an off night. I don't want the entire March Madness experience to be the perfect season for Kentucky narrative. They get enough hype as it is.

I agree with everything but Texas being a top tier team in the big 12. UT had no business being a top 10 team, to that point Iowa was their best win, still might be. They are a middle of the road big 12 team. The Texas game wasn't dominated by UK by any means, in fact getting Texas at home, without Taylor, I'd have expected a much bigger margin of victory.

It would sure make thing more interesting if they had a Big12 conference schedule.

With that D though..... I wouldn't be surprised if they still finished with 0-1 L for the season.

Kentucky already beat Louisville at Louisville. Doubt they are beating them in Rupp.

I hope Kentucky loses in the Sweet 16. I hate the ******* cheating SEC schools. The SEC is ruining college sports for me with all the schools buying there players.

Could they go undefeated this year in the Big 12? Sure, why not. However, I don't think the chances would be on their side for an undefeated season in the Big 12. They're a good team, but IMO they don't belong in the "greatest teams ever" type of realm. I guarantee you that Kansas would beat them at this point in the season at the Phog. I would bet we'd have a chance to beat them at Hilton too.

At this point in the season, they'd for sure be vulnerable. They've beaten Ole Miss, Louisville, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Florida all by less than 10 points.

The team from a few years ago with Anthony Davis may have been able to run the table in the Big 12 (but even then I think Kansas would have beaten them at home), but this year's team IMO wouldn't. Yes, they beat a Kansas team early on handedly which is one of the youngest teams in the NCAA, destroyed 14-10 UCLA, and beat Texas by 12. However, I will not be surprised at all to not see them win the championship this year.

I'd honestly love to play Kentucky this year and think we could beat them if played on a neutral or home court (if ISU wasn't bricking every single shot they tried like versus Maryland or South Carolina). Kentucky can be pretty great defensively so they may give us some problems, but I think Hoiberg would have them prepared like the way he did against Arkansas.

Just mention that Kentucky's coach has got two schools on probation and is a two time cheater. Btw no way they go into every big 12 arena and not lose. Ku or us would get them.
