Yeah you nailed it, he never actually said "the only reason UNI is winning is because their players wanted to go to Iowa." It was more like "Panther players might be playing with more fire because the reality is they probably wanted to go to Iowa and now they want to show the Hawks that they missed out on them."

The way he said it was douchey, but the OP definitely has some selective hearing.
