Dejean Jones

Well, I'm an attorney who practices in Story County and have practiced criminal law. He will have an initial appearance or arraignment first before ever pleading to anything. I guess you could have meant "plead not guilty," but this isn't a simple misdemeanor.

What kind of attorney are you?

Ummm... The U of I is a lawyer school. So those DSM lawyers who supported U of I players probably won't give Iowa State players the same treatment. Especially right before the game vs. there beloved Hawks. We might be able to find an engineer to help find a way to escape from jail. But no lawyer with ties to the U of I will want to touch this. At least until after Friday night..
You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Iowa State athletes basically have a lawyer provided for them whether done via official or unofficial capacity.

I don’t think we know the details yet. Not sure what everyone’s college experiencewas like, but 10 years ago it was very easy to get the cops called on you. Also, It wasn’t uncommon for me to come home and find 20 drunk people in myapartment on a weekday, even though I had nothing to do with them beingthere. For all I know they could havehad weed on them.

The answer (like usual) is probably somewhere in the middleof complete guilt, and complete innocence.

A basketball player smoking weed?

@ROBWGRAY: Ames police commander Geoff Huff said Dejean-Jones is charged with two simple misdemeanors and a serious misdemeanor ...

the number of posters trying to rationalize this is a normal reaction, and it could very well be what happened.

but are there really only 2 of us here that had heard he was already on thin ice internally for the same reasons? this lends credibility to those rumors, IMO

This is going to sound really bad but I don't care. Is there a chance a situation like Jameis Winston with having everything drawn out so he can play tomorrow happen? Just curious. Honestly I don't care what happens to him because this is ridiculous. First of all its in season, and secondly its a Wednesday night before finals. How idiotic can you be? I'm just glad everyone else on the team was absent and knows how to control themselves.

ESPN has caught wind of it.

@GoodmanESPN: Iowa State's Bryce Dejean-Jones arrested on three charges - including one related to marijuana possession. Story coming.

This is out of Fred's hands. ISU has its own policy and BDJ, like thomas and Nader, wil prob miss some games. Isu did this to take away coaches ability to decide.
