Dejean Jones

@GoodmanESPN: Police told ESPN that Dejean-Jones had been warned in excess of five times to keep noise down in his apartment. Now in Story County Jail.

the number of posters trying to rationalize this is a normal reaction, and it could very well be what happened.

but are there really only 2 of us here that had heard he was already on thin ice internally for the same reasons? this lends credibility to those rumors, IMO

I hadn't heard this, but if BDJ was making a habit of smoking weed or being around it I wouldn't be surprised if Fred told him to cool it. If that's the case this won't be good.

This is going to sound really bad but I don't care. Is there a chance a situation like Jameis Winston with having everything drawn out so he can play tomorrow happen? Just curious. Honestly I don't care what happens to him because this is ridiculous. First of all its in season, and secondly its a Wednesday night before finals. How idiotic can you be? I'm just glad everyone else on the team was absent and knows how to control themselves.

How do you know everyone else on the team was absent.... because that isnt the case...

@GoodmanESPN: Police also said it was not as though there were 50 people in Dejean-Jones apartment. Just a handful. "Marijuana party" not quite accurate.

the smiley makes it seem like you are his lawyer. Which would be neat.

Definitely not or I wouldn't be commenting on this message board!

I added the "smiley" because the last three ISU basketball players charged with crimes all hired Boles as their attorney. That's what Al was alluding to, I suspect.

Doesn't matter if he plays tomorrow or not. We are good enough to beat Iowa with or without him. Would be much easier with him.....but if he put himself in a position to where that won't be possible.....next man in. And we will see in the coming days about how bad this issue is.

From everything I've heard about BDJ in Ames, I'm really surprised it took this long for him to get in trouble for the hippy lettuce. Just hope no other players get caught.

Well, to add to it, he was told FIVE(!) times to turn it down and didn't, which resulted in the arrest. That's pretty idiotic, however at least his busted party didn't riot on Welch Ave.

@TravisHines21: Ames police say BDJ’s apt had been an issue for noise multiple times. They said they worked with ISU coaching staff to handle it previously.

Reading the tweets from Ames PD and looking at the charges - it would seem to me BDJ simply was having a party - apparently was an idiot regarding the noise (the noise and nuisance charges) and when detained for it, somebody else had pot on them.

I'd think if it were him, he'd be charged outright with possession and such.

5 times the police have been to your home and you continue to allow illegal activities to take place is just asking for it.

He's been told 5 times since he's lived there to turn down his music, not 5 times last night

@TravisHines21: Arrest occurred at 3 am after noise complaint. BDJ the only person arrested, for essentially allowing marijuana use at his apartment.
