No kidding. Couldn't he at the very least waited til the weekend? Get past the last big test of the non-con. A week before getting McKay eligible.
But in the end.... is it SO hard to not do stupid ****, if not outright illegal - for simply the 4-5 months of the season? Really?
Well if you want to look at the positives all the time it will give Nader/someone else a chance to step up and possibly allow them to have a breakout game.

95% of college students probably have been in the same house as someone that is smoking. If that's all that happened this is a joke, and the Ames PD is a complete joke. If it's something more serious, I will happily revise my statement.
He can bond out for $160, to a bail bond company. I would imagine the same DSM law firm that represents troubled Hawkeye athletes will represent BDJ, since they've represented every ISU athlete to get in trouble in the past 5-10 years and one of the partners in said firm is a former ISU football player.
I'm not sure that he's even charged with a violation of Iowa Code, but rather an Ames City ordinance. Iowa Code uses the term "Gatherings Where Controlled Substances Are Used" and not "Drug House".
Based on the three charges showing, I'm guessing that there was someone who wasn't BDJ smoking weed in his apartment. BDJ would have been likely charged with possession of marijuana and not "Drug House". Or at least in addition to it. He probably ran his mouth to the cop, so the cop arrested him on this BS charge, which he would have had probable cause for (since there likely was someone smoking weed in his house).
He shouldn't miss a minute of tomorrow night for it, IMO. I'd say the same if it was an Iowa player.

I have plenty of money but I don't know how to get $1,600 in cash in the middle of the night.
I just looked BDJ up on iowacourts,.gov and he also has an unpaid speeding ticket therefore suspended license:

No. He will not plea today and, in my experience, the judge would strongly advise him against pleading to this charge and suggest he speak with an attorney first. I imagine the public defender will be appointed and then he will be free to seek his own counsel if he so chooses.
Just disappointed in BDJ right now. Could care less about tomorrow's game at this point, just hoping this isn't as big of a deal as it seems. Hope it's a learning and maturing experience for the young man, even though it may be unpleasant at the time.
