MLB: JON LESTER PICKS THE CUBS!

And now they're talking about the Cubs making a run at Shields and even Justin Upton? What? Dear god, this is going to be fun.

6 years, $155 Million?

I really hate to tell you Cub fans this but the White Sox still have a better 1 and 2 starter even with you guys acquiring Lester and I'm not even a Sox fan.

Hate to tell you this, but no[/QUOTE

Time will tell.

Until you guys actually win it's nothing more than its been the last 10 years, just talk.

So first you argue the Sox 1-2 is better and when a Cubs fan responds "No" your argument is "you haven't wont anything in forever"... that is a patented Sox/Cardinal fan response. The past does not decide the future my friend. Great START to the offseason for the boys in blue and it's only going to get better!

P.s. It is a valid argument that Sale/Samardzija is a better 1-2 punch that Lester/Arrieta, but I just had to point out the ignorance on your end of instead of using facts to debate that, you turn to the "the Cubs haven't won in years" argument which is useless.

Ohhhhhhh man, do I love seeing Cubs fans get their hopes up

Sale and the Golden Domer are great. I think the Cub offense will end up making Lester/Arrieta look better however.

Seems like a lot of money for a guy who couldn't hold a 4 run lead in the 8th inning of the A.L. wildcard game.

Lester: Will be 31 this year has a lifetime ERA of 3.58 and is 116-67
Arrieta: Will turn 29 this year has a lifetime ERA of 4.48 and is just 34-32

Sale: Will turn 26 this year has an ERA of 2.76 and is 44 and 29 for a team that's not much better than the Cubs.
Samardzija: Will turn 30 this year and has a lifetime ERA of 3.85 and is 36-48 but let me remind you 31-42 for the cellar dwelling Cubs.

A prime example of the importance of having a great season in your free agent year.

ERA 2102 4.82
ERA 2013 3.75
ERA 2014 2.46
