Sadly, with Georgetown and Utah as the next two games on KU's schedule, I'm sure his punishment will be handled "internally" and he won't miss any time.

At the same time, I could see Self wanting to use this guy, who only gets 20 minutes a game, as an example to show KU is clean, but really, it's an excuse to give Oubre a game or two to see what he can do.

My guess:
"We are working to gather all of the evidence as to what happened, we will withhold penalty until we have more information."

Coincidentally when they reach an easy 2 game stretch:
"After investigation, Jamari has not represented this University in the way I expect from my players." 2 game suspension to "make an example"

So no matter how Self handles it he's slimy and has ulterior motives? Got it.

FIFY

If we could just get KU down to 4 players on the roster, I think 4 players and 3 refs vs 5 players might actually be a somewhat evenly matched game.

No kidding. Self suspends Brady Morningstar the entire first semester (9 games) for a DUI while Hoiberg gives Thomas and Nader two regular season games and KU is the team that goes light on player punishment...

Traylor has stunk this year and played like he was intoxicated Friday against Florida so maybe a few games away from the court wouldn't be a bad thing. If they cost us a win it doesn't mean anything in the long run. Kid needs to get his head right. I don't have any clue about any details of the situation. Cases of obstruction tend to be mainly for running your mouth to a cop so I am not really amped up about it. Like I said, he basically wasn't out there against Florida so let someone who wants to play hard have his minutes.

Morningstar was awful and was the "The worst 3 point specialist in the history of time" as my KU friend said. My friend was also a member of KU athletics and the biggest KU bball fan ever.

Arent there rumors he was a part of a drug ring? I'm sure there was a bit more of a lesson to be learned in that suspension than drinking and driving.

What happened: At the Cave on Saturday night, Cliff Alexander was talking **** to a few football players and started a fight. After it was broken up, Traylor (uninvolved in the fight) refused to show his ID to police. He was arrested for "interfering with the duties of an officer" and released on $100 bond. I think Jamari's gonna be okay.Source: friends who work at the Cave (the club this happened at).

FWIW...

So Naz Long sucks as a three point shooter then? Cause his career 3pt fg% is two full points lower than Morningstar's 41%. Some KU fans hate Morningstar because he was rather limited in his athleticism. He's quite polarizing amongst KU fans so I am not surprised to hear him described that way, whether it's an accurate statement or not. But back to the point which is that Self has never shied away from suspending players to save a win or two. He could have easily given Brady the two game wrist slap that Hoiberg doled out but chose to drop the hammer on him. The details of Traylor's arrest don't sound like much at all and the team hasn't been having any other troubles leading up to it so I don't expect he'll miss much time. Either way, no biggie. Tough road game Wednesday whether Traylor is there or not.

But could he play defense like Naz?
