Bryce, Bryce Baby

I thought this was going to be some ridiculous thread speculating about him being frustrated about not playing down the stretch.

I love BDJs game and I think he and Fred will figure out exactly what is role is. His defensive ability is a huge step up from Kane, and I think he has more tools offensively than Kane did as well. The key will be him developing the "alpha dog" mentality Kane had.

I 100% disagree about him having more offensive tools than Kane.

I love BDJ, but Kane was a different level.

I guess it's my bad for even comparing them, as they are different players. What Kane had in grit and strength BDJ has in athletic ability. I think BDJ has much more fluidity in his game, but isn't quite the finisher Kane was. I've been impressed with BDJ's midrange game and he's hit some nice 3s.

Fair to say they are different players, though.

Then you don't listen to enough Vanilla Ice...but then, who does?

Check out Kane's numbers at the NBA combine. He was very athletic. It's sad his age is what held him back from the NBA.

Maybe BDJ will change my mind by the end of the year, but Kane's year last year was so, so special.

I can't wait for the monster dunks to finally go down. We've been close and they'll keep coming.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Fred pull BDJ several times last night, especially at crunch time, because he was letting his guy get to the basket too easily? One, BDJ has to figure out he must play better defense every possession, and two, Fred is sending that message. As for Kane and BDJ...I agree with most. Just so different, yet both productive. Definitely need his rebounding. Kane a better defender, even though I think BDJ's athleticism should allow for improvement in that area. BDJ is maybe more versatile of a 'scorer'. Either way, I'm glad BDJ is on our team. But I do miss Kane's determination and leadership.

I'd prefer BDJ not try to posterize an opponent for one play and try to play solid man defense instead of getting screened off his man and taking bad angles.

I wouldn't say Kane was a great defender but BDJ's defense was lacking last night.

I love that we have the depth for Fred to sit BDJ down when he's obviously frustrated. MT came in, drilled shots and snagged boards, earning the majority of the playing time in the second half.

BDJ has that explosiveness both offensively and defensively that we've lacked the past few years. He'll settle in and be a huge asset this season.

He certainly has the tools to be a great defender, which we saw when he was guarding Hunter for GSU. He just needs to put the effort in every possession.

I love how people are forgetting how frustrating Kane was at times last year, especially early in the season.

Kane was great last year, but dont forget he didnt always finish. He sometimes took long strides and then could not elevate to finish at the rim and had a lot of lay ups blocked. This team is every bit of last years team and maybe then some. We shall find out. Again would like to point out Dustin being a step up in the starting five as well. Dude finishes every time he has the chance.

Bryce is much bigger than Kane and less point-guarderish.

After Dec. 20 you'll see some groups with him at the 4 spot.
