Cyclones in the NBA

Morris and BDJ are the only two that I can see playing there and BDJ is a slight long shot.

That's just my opinion of course.

McKay is definitely an NBA guy

based on what? the games he played in C.C? hearsay from practice? not saying he won't make it, but unless you are an nba scout, how do you qualify this? not many players make it to the nba after all.

not trying to start a ******* match or anything, but he hasn't even played D1 ball yet.

the other players mentioned so far we have at least seen in action. i hope he does make the league, but to say "definitely" is a stretch to say the least at this point.

I would say Monte is the only one. However only if he gets like %500 better.

Victor Alexander, Barry Stevens, Jeff Grayer. Oh wait, they all played on GS at the same time. The first time the top 3 scorers at the time from any school played on the same NBA team at once. That is cool. Ill go with Morris and Niang to have decent careers

500% better? The guy set the ncaa record for assist/to ratio in his freshman season and looks like he might break his own record his sophomore season. I know were only 2 games in but if the guy got 500% better he'd be the best player in the history of basketball. Go look at his numbers this year. 16.5 ppg 3.5 rpg 6 apg 0 turnovers.

So by your standards he would need to average 82.5 ppg 17.5 rpg and 30 apg. Thats 500% better. Like i said best player ever.

He had 2 TO first game

Monte, BDJ, and McKay.

Odds are greatly in favor of the Greek also given his size and skill set. Cooke has gotten sniffs from scouts.

I think Niang will, but it's going to be in a very specific role. I think Morris has to put even more muscle on. The measurables are favorable for McKay and Tsalmpouris, but we haven't seen them play in the big lights yet, so we don't know what their potential is. Jury is still out for BDJ for me, but if it were to be today, I'd say no, but he's got tons of room to improve this year as well, on an already talented base.

BDJ is the only one projected to be drafted next year. Still early but I think he'll be there.

Some of you clearly know nothing about the NBA. Less than 1% of college players make the NBA. The Greek kid has no shot. He has height and nothing else. He is a toothpick and uncoordinated. He probably won't see significant minutes until he is at least a junior. McKay has not even played 1 minute of D1 basketball. Niang is not big enough or athletic enough to make it. Morris and DeJean Jones are the only two has have a shot at this point. Morris with his passing and turnover ratio has the best opportunity but he still has a long way to go in other areas before he even gets a serious look. The potential is there.

Ironic statement since something like 17% of people over 7 foot tall between 20 and 40 years old in the US will get a shot in the NBA. All you have to do is be that tall and have SOME bball skills.

Here is an article that can help you understand:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/dandiam...-tall-the-fastest-way-to-get-rich-in-america/

A couple quotes from attached article: “I’ll check up on anyone over 7 feet that’s breathing,” NBA scouting director Ryan Blake told Torre in 2011

Back in the 1990s, 7 foot 1 Matt Wenstrom, who averaged 1.6 points per game in his college career at North Carolina, somehow played two seasons in the NBA – which was two seasons more than Donald Williams, who was Wenstrom’s college teammate and the most outstanding player of the 1993 NCAA Final Four.

This is incorrect. He is coordinated and you do not see it. Watch him against Woodbury.

I'd keep an eye on how D. McDermott does this year to get an idea of Niang's chances. 12.5 mpg and 4.3 ppg so far, not bad. Their games are a bit different (McD out/Niang inside more often), but their builds and skillsets are similar. Could see scouts drawing comparisons.

The previous ncaa a/to record holder was Tyler Newbold from Utah State. How was his NBA career?
