Cyclone.TV

Has anyone had success configuring a Kindle Fire HDX to be able to watch Cyclones.tv? I have tried 1000 things but can't get it to work. Google searches have failed me.

I get good results quality-wise using either my HTPC (Core2 Duo) or MacBook Air (Core i5) connected to a TV via HDMI, but the frame rate never seems to be smooth either way. Every second, the picture jumps a bit. My eyes get used to it after watching for a while, but it's almost headache inducing for the first 10 minutes. Has anyone noticed this and been able to fix it? I feel like either computer should be powerful enough to keep up, and my internet is not a problem (~50 M down, tested, at the time of the streams).

If you go with HDMI, you might need to go into the audio settings and change it to output to HDMI instead of speakers. You would think it would switch automatically, but mine didn't. I had to manually change it. I missed the first five minutes of the Viterbo game trying to figure this one out, thinking it was an audio driver issue. Nope, just a simple change in audio settings.

This happens when I plug in my laptop with hdmi

The mobile app actually works great for me. We were in Minneapolis last week so I watched the Viterbo and Kansas game on the mobile app, really good picture too. I would suggest getting it!

On the Google Play store, the app is widely bashed and gets a minimal rating. Was that the old version and now it is better? Or perhaps this app is only good for iOS?

This is a good discussion. Why can't there be a Cyclones.tv app on the "smart" tv/blue ray/roku/apple tv etc.

My four year old can stream 100 different netflix kids shows on a 60 in tv no problem, and 17 cyclone fans have 17 different ways to watch a freaking basketball game.

Even Steve Jobs couldn't figure this out!

I talked to Tyler Rutherford last summer (tailgate tour) about the possibility of them getting an app on any of the main streaming devices in the future and he told me at the time that they would eventually like to. He said the biggest problem is that there is so many different streaming devices and making an app for each one is very expensive and time consuming as well, so it is pretty much impossible to have one for every option. One he did mention as a possibility in particular was having one for the Roku device. Again, he was just talking about what they were wanting to do, but nothing was in the works at the time and their opinions may have changed too over the past year and a half.

P.S. Many people go to the Cyclone tailgate tour events to talk to people like CPR, CFH, or JP, while I've realized the hidden gems of going to those is talking to people like CJL and Tyler Rutherford (Cyclones.tv). Tyler is a super great guy who is very honest and forthright on talking about Cyclones.tv, wha is in the works, as well as their visions for it. All said and done, we've got really good people that work on Cyclones.tv full-time, but they are always going to be hindered with a lot of stuff based on limited manpower and even moreso, a limited budget. All of these things we'd LIKE to have cost money.

I know most (if not all) responses have been trying to help, but a few made me chuckle.

"I don't have any problems using my $2000 computer hooked up to my $3000 TV thru my $200 gold-played HDMI cable"

"I don't even notice the $10 coming out of my account each month".

We get it, you're loaded, congratulations! haha

Was this said or is it a strawman? The $10/month quote doesn't support your point very well by itself.

People are adding context to their solutions which is fairly important to the discussion.

I get the annual subscription so I can watch replays during the off-season while travelling. I love having so much access to content when I want it.

Don't be a hater.

I added the HDMI part, & prices, but accurate enough. Lol.. My panties really aren't too wadded, just laugh because posts like that come off as humble brags to me.

Probably more jealous than anything..

Also, I'll go ahead & throw it out there: if any of you won't notice $10/month, could you just go ahead & not notice it into my account? K thanks.

How soon after the game will the replay be available? I'm hoping to watch Saturday morning.

I have 10 HDMI cables at least currently hooked up to various tv's from monoprice and have not had 1 issue. Also just bought several Iphone 4 and 5 chargers from them and received them in about 5 days from California. I highly recommend them.

Wow...I'm really glad I have Mediacom. This whole thread gives me a headache.

Right? Don't dare complain about the service either. Spend the money, run cables, tolerate the choppy signal, realize the app doesn't work and just be happy it isn't 1996

Oh....and know our school doesn't have the resources for this, but they're doing their best
