Lane Kiffin... Want a Big 12 Job!!

I think he could probably bring in the recruits but wouldn't know what to do with them.

He would also be gone after his first year.

Another all timer. "Hey lets get the guy who not only hasn't had success, but has also demonstrated the desire to provide absolutely no loyalty."

I don't care if a coach uses us as a stepping stone so long as that their only focus isn't said stepping stone. Go one to a better job because you are good at your job, great. Come here just so you are relevant for a bigger job, no thanks.

It would be a pretty big name to have.

IF he could bring in the recruits and get us some success before bolting I would be ok with him.

Not ok if he bolts before getting anything before year 3 like the Chiz

If my only two choices were Rhoads or Kiffin, I'd keep Rhoads. At least I respect Rhoads as a man. I have no respect for Kiffin as either a man or a football coach.

He was historically a great recruiter. I think he was fairly humbled after the USC debacle.

I would be all for him, not sure he would be all for ISU. Wouldn't be shocked if he hung around Bama for a couple years to see if Saban burns out.

Yeah, i think Rhoads should be done but Kiffin would be a terrible idea.

I've posted this before and I'll say it again..I know everyone might want this offensive guru type coach to take over the program etc..but IMO what this program needs is a HC that is an expert at recruiting and developing O and Dlines. ISU will never ever be able to out recruit most big 12 schools at the skill positions, ever. But we can be a school that gets very good lineman and if we can get and develop very good O and D lines the rest takes care of itself. The last ISU team to have an Oline that just dominated most teams was under Mac and Steve Loney was the reason for that. Once we lost Loney we slipped in recruiting and developing good lineman. It has been a slow degrading disaster since with each year getting worse and worse. Right now we have enough talent on offense to beat teams but our Oline is so bad well you know the story.

Hiring this type of coach may not sell more season tics initially but I can assure you that given a few years this type of coach will get it done at ISU. There are plenty of really good lineman in the Midwest to build a solid program at ISU just need the right HC with a proven track record to sell it.

Don't think he would even be on Pollards 1st page of candidates. Would never even get a call. Remember, Pollard has to work right with these guys. That and there is no F'ing way Kiffin's smoking hot wife would move to Ames, IA.

As others have said, if you can't win coaching USC, how the hell do you think he would win here? He coached against great Oregon teams and good Stanford teams. And that's about it. Think he would win in the B12?
