Other thoughts

  • I expect Georgios to have a good freshmen year. His size and skill are virtually unknown outside of Iowa and he will begin to show up on the radar.
  • I have a weird hunch that Abdel Nader will have a breakout year. He's a guy that can make tough shots, and could become our late game go-to guy. Our very own Kobe/MJ.
  • I think Clayton Custer will struggle this year due to his size. However, he will be a bigger factor in the future.
  • Look for Niang to live up to every last bit of hype surrounding him. I think he is CBB's next Doug McDermott and my vote to win the Wooden award for 2015'16. Yea, I said it.
  • Iowa State is the most underrated team in the entire nation. Not getting enough credit. That will change after this year because of the noise they will make in the NCAA tournament. This team is just too deep, and no one outside of CyclONE Nation understands that. The team last year really didn't have a lot of athleticism or big time talent, just superb chemistry, effective teamwork, and stellar coaching. This year we actually have quite a bit of athletecism and talent.

Final Four:
  • Wisconsin
  • ISU



  • Arizona
  • Kentucky

Championship game:
  • ISU goes on a major run, wins the Big 12 tournament, has no injuries, and shuts up the Commonwealth trolls in the national title game.

Well honestly there are just too many players to have one right answer. I put Taslbo out there because he can shoot (I don't know about jameel, but since he plays for Fred Freaking Hoiberg I would assume he can). I left out Monte because otherwise you can't have your shot makers out there. Maybe I would replace BDJ with Monte and switch Monte and Naz.
 
I really think Thomas sees more minutes than Naz this year based on everything I've been hearing this preseason about him being lights out.

Taslbo is an intriguing prospect but if you really think he going to come in and be better than McKay you are severely misguided. Your OP is troll esque. Saying monte will be on the bench in crunch time is equally horrendous.

Not saying you are wrong, but ya see, Naz shot 40% from deep last year. He has already proven he is lights out. He's an assassin from deep.
 
Did I read this right and he thinks we win the Championship?
 
No way Tsal is playing late in the game. He probably wont even play that often this year once we are at full force with McKay unless he proves he's better than Edozie.

OP is almost laughable. If GT plays more than garbage time this yr would be shocked. We don't have nearly enough PT for him.

If you recall last year when Matt went through a shooting slump, Fred said he'd been lights out in practice. I do think that shooting will translate from practice to games this year. Still, I'll withhold judgment until I see what he does in games.

Agree, but it should be easier this year for him to play with the confidence he needs. Hopefully he can play with the attitude Scotty had.
 
I just think it's impressive that in the national championship game, the OP thinks we'll not only beat Kentucky, but also win the big xii championship.
