Ridge Kiley brings home a silver medal in his first international tournament today at the Clan International in Canada. Ridge had a bye and won 12-0, 10-0, & 10-0 tech falls to reach the finals. He dropped a tough battle to Canadian Olympian Haislan Garcia in the finals.

He will join fellow CWC athletes Angel Escobedo, Deron Winn, Jarod Trice, and Matt Gibson next weekend in New York for the Bill Ferrell International (formerly NYAC).

Ridge was a 3x NQ at Nebraska and graduated in 2013. In the year between college and the CWC he competed just once and owned/operated Unrivaled Sports Performance in Lincoln. He let his body heal and got the fire to compete full-time again. Ridge felt like he had the best chance of achieving his goals under KJ and the Paulsons.

He primarily works with Trent, Angel, and our 141-157 guys in the room. You will occasionally see him go with 125/133 guys and even up to our 174 guys too. He is competing at 70kg (154) this year and probably 65kg (143) in the Olympic year. You may remember he was a 103/112 at Eagle Grove and then 125-141 at Nebraska. Although he was 141 as a senior, he was probably a 149/157 and it really hurt his performance. He went down to allow himself, Jake Sueflohn, and James Green to all be in the line-up. He's adjusted to his new freestyle weight class and has a lot more energy.

My screen name may not give it away but we went to high school together. EGHS all the way.

The name's Tad by the way. Been following you and your brother via social media. Always nice to see success come from people I know personally. Tell Ridge congrats for me and I'll be watching for his next accomplishment.
