What makes anyone think a new coach is going to change the results. Every saturday i come on here and its fire the coach. How about we stick with the coach and see what the future holds. If we suck for two more years oh well. We have sucked for 120 years give or take 3 decent seasons. . Whats two more. Its one of the hardest places in college football to recruit. We have some decent offensive weapons that are young. We have a proven offensive coordinator that is new. If we made the move we would have a huge payout and could not afford a good new coach anyway. We might want to replace some defensive coaches. I get that. But enough of the fire CPR stuff. Give it a rest.

Have you not been on here long enough to realize that this board always thinks the next player/coach is going to be the difference maker?

kind of a "ah well who gives a **** anyway" type approach. I don't really blame you. In fact, the losing trend is much larger than paul rhoads

Im 40 years old. I have never seen a great Cyclone football team. The seneca teams were the closest i have seen and oh yeah they got blown the hell out by Oklahoma also.

The difference is Rhoads had had support and facilities like no coach at ISU had ever even dreamed of. Hoiberg's taken that support and excelled. Rhoads had taken that support and taken a huge messy dump with it.

I don't expect to see a great Cyclone team, either. That's nowhere near my expectation.
I simply want to see a team that can win 6-8 games every year. That should be a minimal standard, but is apparently much too high for Cyclone football. That's very disappointing.

Einstein's definition of insanity at it's finest, folks. Continuing to do the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Either that or #losermentality

Basketball is a way different animal. Basketball we have tradition and we only need 8 good players. We have decent football faclities but still nowhere near the big boys. We still have to recruit guys who are 4th and 5th options in there states. To think we should be top 5 in the big 12 is crazy in football. We have the smallest football budget. We have no instate recruiting advantage. We might get 3 kids a year to play for us in state. The rest go to Iowa.

Basketball we had **** tradition until Orr came along. Why not football?

Yes today was a huge disappointment but why dont you guys answer an honest question, do you guys really expect a Cyclone team with the gauntlet schedule they have year in and year out to win 6-8 games every year?

Its not that i dont want to see us win. Its that i have come to realize we are way to far down the list to recruit well. Its like asking a kid if he wants to go to Florida for vacation or Iowa. 99 percent of the time its Florida.

Yes. Or why even bother? If the expectation is 2-3 wins a season because it's just too damn difficult, might as well just fold the football team and implode Jack Trice.

If this is the attitude people are gonna take, you might as well just fold up the program and put every penny into basketball. Such a **** poor attitude.
