In the last 14.5 seasons, Kirk is 109-62. That's pretty awesome for a program in the state of Iowa. Hawk fans are completely nuts to want to run him out. Other than the elite coaches -- the Sabans, the Meyers etc -- pretty much every coach in the country is more likely to give them 4 win seasons than 10 win seasons. Since they're not getting those elite 4-5 coaches, KF is pretty much the best man for the job. Even if his record against ISU is less than impressive. There's more to life than the ISU game.

half of the problem is that he didn't throw for 500 yards against a really bad defense. KF is definitely not a risk taker, but when CJB got his chance to shine against a cream puff he was pretty much on par with what Rudock has done in the past. The fact that Iowa could not run wild against ISU is a pretty good indication that Iowa's offensive issues go way beyond QB play.
I still don't know why they want to run off KF. Outside of Fry, he's got to be one of the most successful coaches they've ever had, or at least in the modern era. But they want to run him off thinking they should be winning national championships or something.
Because the hoks are trending in the wrong direction. Terrible game management, terrible time management, terrible overall coaching top to bottom. And I don't care what their record is, their football team sucks. Not exactly breaking news, even the most delusional fan base in America knows it too.
Aside from maybe two or so seasons, are they REALLY that much better or worse off than most of their teams under him? Really?
Have you seen our offensive playcalling? We're not exactly a scheme that sets up for a QB to light things up. And no, CJB wasn't on par with Rudock this season. Rudock played like garbage against Ball St., ISU, Pitt, and Maryland. CJB played better against Pitt and Purdue than JR played in all of those games.
Rudock has a better QB rating this season than CJB. CJB has actually been worse this year than both Sam and Grant were last year which is saying something
Great. If you've watched every snap of every Iowa game it's not hard to see that CJB has the stronger arm, is more accurate, is a better runner, and makes better decisions. Rudock bails on plays way too early either by taking sacks or throwing the ball into the dirt. Rudock mustered 3 points on our home field against a horrible Ball St. team until there was 5 minutes left and we needed a two-TD last minute rally to win. He led us to 17 points against ISU at home, which has the 108th ranked scoring D in the nation. If you've watched all the Iowa games and think JR is the better QB, good for you. But you're in the minority, no matter what the passer ratings say.
I don't know what games you're watching but CJ isn't more accurate. That's actually his problem. He's Vandenburg 2.0
I've watched them all. I think he's easily the more accurate passer. They've both missed easy passes for sure. But CJB is more accurate, especially with the deep ball. In the one drive he was given against Ball St. he put the ball on the number in the end zone if our WR (can't remember one) hadn't bobbled it as he went out of bounds. On the big 3rd and long against Pitt he stood in until the last second and delivered a dart to Hamilton that gave us a huge first down. JR would have thrown it away by then. Against Purdue the back shoulder TD pass to KMM was right on the mark, along with the TD pass that hit Hillyer in the numbers that was dropped.
Now I have not watched all of Iowa's games, and I have heard a lot of Iowa fans, including my brothers, whom are very knowledgeable FB fans, say that JRB is a much better QB than Rudock, but in the end, if he is so much better, why is his QB rating so bad? I mean those numbers do mean something, don't they? All I am saying is that if Beathard is way better than Rudock, which would not take a lot, then shouldn't he have a better rating based on his superior performances?
The best part is that they're arguing about which qb sucks more. I have to side with Gonzo though.

Rudock has issues, being accurate generally isn't one of them. His career compl % is about 10% higher than Cj's is this year (and this year alone he's about 13% higher)
