For all you IT specialists, is there a way I can use a Proxy server in Iowa to watch the game on Cyclones TV? I am located in Missouri and highly annoyed I can't watch.

TIA

From what I've seen, setting up a VPN is the way to go. Problem is that most VPN services I've looked at appear to provide US ip addresses, but not necessarily as specific as an actual Iowa ip address.

Right now I think I'm going to set my brother up with my cyclones.tv account, have him stream it to his tv, and then set up a facetime call that I'll use airplay to stream to my tv. Probably going to suck, but the benefit will be that we'll literally be watching the game together.

I'm also interested in this; if anyone knows how to get my internet connection to be from Iowa on Saturday, let me know.

Consider me in the group that also wants to know. The AD agreeing to this idiotic arrangement really screwed over the out of state fans.

So even WITH a cyclones.tv subscription, you can't get the game out of state?

I already know the answer to this I'm sure, but are Longhorn network fans likewise restricted?

This made me laugh at the contortions cyclone fans go through to watch their team. I love belonging to this fan base. Go Cyclones - I have cyclone TV and live in Minnesota so I'm just contacting the local sports bars to see if they carry the LongHorn Network.

If you find one downtown, let me know! I'll be in town for a wedding and am among the disgruntled...haha.

Actually, ISU fans are probably in better shape. At least in Iowa, if you really want to watch the game, you have that option. If a Longhorn fan wants to watch it, but their provider doesn't carry the longhorn network, they are screwed no matter where they live. Not sure how well the Longhorn network is selling though, so who knows, maybe it's all over Texas.

Awe, nevermind, looks like Linghorn Network is online as well. I thought it was TV only.

If you are out of state, and you access to a username/pass for any university in Iowa, you should be able to very easily connect through that's university VPN.

Excuse my ignorance, so I sign in to the ISU vpn. Then just open my browser and go to cyclones.tv? Thanks for the advice.

So I live in Iowa, but will be traveling to Nebraska... If I take my Ipad, will I be able to watch the game on it, in Nebraska? I am guess the answer is no...

Wait, what? I thought situations like this was why I had a Cyclones.tv account. I'm in India. And I don't have an iastate.edu email account. What can I do?

Last week's game (similar situation) ended up on some random streaming website. Might happen again.

Here's how to access the ISU VPN. https://www-it.sws.iastate.edu/howtos/vpn

Yes, once accessed, you should be able to go to cyclones.tv, and you will be assumed to have an Iowa IP

A little more help for the computer inept please : I went to vpn.iastate.edu. They asked for an ID and password. I used the Id and Password I use for Cyclones.tv. They didn't like it. Is that not the ID and passwrd to use or what? Thanks.

Going to a website for Texas Game Watches - found this downtown Mpls. Spot - I've heard good things about the bar but have not been there before.

You might want to confirm they have dish network (maybe the texas game watch site already did). As far as I know, that is the only carrier in MN that has LHN. Can't get it on comcast or Direct tv. A couple people were looking earlier and couldn't seem to find one that actually had LHN.
