Lets talk Breakfast

Always an option, but like I said, the oatmeal route is healthier, plus it gives me something to look forward to on the weekends.

Oatmeal is pretty good. I have been enjoying Kellogs Low-Fat Granola cereal as well and Kashi cinnamon mini wheats.

I get home in the morning and have a nice bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios and milk. I find that it satisfies my craving for food, and keeps me from having something too heavy in the couple of hours before I head off to bed. Therefore, it doesn't stay with me as long, which is nice:smile:

I wish I had a chef that would have a full breakfast ready for me when I wake up. I love breakfast, but there's just not enough time for it.

There are two parts of my current work that I love more than anything else. First, I get paid to work out. Second, I have permission to eat at the dining facility. For $2.10, I get an "all-you-can-eat" breakfast buffet at 6:30 am. My choice of eggs cooked to order, omelettes, fresh fruit, including chopped mangos (my favorite), waffles, french toast, pancakes, oatmeal, grits, breakfast meats, potatoes done like 4 ways, etc, etc.

My current weight loss started almost immediately after I started eating these killer breakfasts.

A side benefit of my breakfasts, is I get to flirt with some of the local wildlife, who are bored out of their skulls that early in the morning.

I lost like 60 pounds, and never quit eating sausage and bacon for breakfast. My cholesterol is good, too.

I hate you.

I think my biggest problem is lack of exercise. I used to play basketball and baseball and I was always active.

I'd probably attribute that to the fact that when you eat breakfast, even if it's just something on the go, it does two things - 1. boosts your metabolism, so you burn more calories faster, and 2. makes you less hungry throughout the day. I gained 75 or so pounds in college, mostly because I rarely ate breakfast - I'd rather get the extra sleep in the morning. I'm pretty sure I wrecked my metabolism in college and is probably the reason why it's so incredibly difficult for me to cut the weight now, even when I eat healthier than when I did then, even though I'm now exercising, and even though I'm not even 30 yet.

We should all have an Egg McMuffin this week in honor of Herb Peterson, it's inventor, who just died.

I read the other day that 1-2 egg mcmuffins is actually better for you than a bagel with cream cheese. Who would have thought.

I'd say that an Egg McMuffin is probably the healthiest thing on the McDonald's menu outside of the salads. Besides the amount of sodium and the processed flour english muffin (which isn't that bad as long as it's not a staple of your diet), the ham, egg, and cheese really isn't that bad for you.

Usually I have a bowl of cereal, but if I'm running behind I'll grab a bagel and cream cheese from Panera, donuts from Caseys or occationally a bacon, egg and cheese McGriddle.
