CBS sports reporting we will be in the field next year. Illinois, VA Tech and UAB also.

From Wikipeida:

The Emerald Coast Classic is an 8 team college basketball tournament held during Thanksgiving of NCAA Division I men's basketball season, with the inaugural tournament beginning in 2014. games are held on the campus of Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida. The tournament will be presented by Global Sports.[SUP][1][/SUP] First and second-round games will be played at on-campus sites, with the third round and championship round scheduled Thanksgiving weekend at Northwest Florida State College.[SUP][2][/SUP]

I can't decide if this sounds good or not…also, how good are Illinios and VT suppose to be this year? It'd be nice to build our non-con resume a little through these tournaments

If UAB is part of the headliners... I'm afraid this isn't an improvement over this year - or last year's non-conference tournaments.

Emerald Coast, my ***. I was getting excited about combining a tournament out in Washington with a family Thanksgiving (minus the kidney stone). Since when did Florida have an "Emerald Coast"?

"The Cyclones and Illini should both be Top 25 teams in 15-16 while Virginia Tech should be in line for a jump in Year 2 under Buzz Williams thanks to the addition of Maryland transfer Seth Allen."

Google Emerald Coast and see how many results are not referring to Florida. Just sayin'...

Gotta hope Illinois and Va Tech have good seasons this year so there is more weight on it next year.

I've lived in both states, on the Atlantic coast and near Puget sound. In one region, you are surrounded by green, emerald green...thick rainforests on the Peninsula going down to the edge of the cliffs above the beaches. In the other region, not so much. Just sayin'

I'm sure the Florida Emerald Coast is referring to all the green that comes down with the retirees from NY. :spinny:

Meh. Idk if I care for this. 3 games with the possibility of two big 5 teams. Are they still adding schools to this tournament?

Sounds like it will be like the CBE this year where the other 4 teams are smaller schools that we play at home.
