Chiefs clobbering them, lost to Miami after a 17 pt. lead, barely beat Raiders. Doesn't break my heart.

Could be. They'll still probably win that mediocre division this year, though.

I always pointed out to people they only won the Super Bowl when Romeo Crennel was their DC. Maybe they just need to get him back on the staff.

No Fun League, now sliding on knees into end zone is a penalty. BS.

You know who else was on the Patriots staff at their peak? Charlie Weiss is looking for a job again. :jimlad:

Man that post game press conference by Belichick was painful to watch. That guy shows no emotion and talks like his mouth is half open.

I thought it was hilarious. He's so grumpy and frowning all the time. I'm just waiting for a reporter to stand up and yell at him, "Man, you have to gimme something--SOMETHING--just one line. I write about you and your team for a living, and we all have a living because people find what we do as grown men playing a boys' game interesting. Give me something for copy and we can all go home." And the Hoodie not even smiling at that.

They've got a good defense--well, we thought they did--but, yeah, terrible line, not much for receivers, spotty running game, and Brady looks old and slow. He never had the most arm strength but that all seems to be gone now. There's always a change of the guard. Maybe it's just his time. The end for veteran quarterbacks who are otherwise productive comes quickly, typically, and maybe it is time. They still might win that division given Miami seems a mess, Buffalo is about to start Kyle Orton, and let's not even talk about the Jets, but this feels like the first team in the wild card (probably either Denver or San Diego, depending on who loses that division) will smoke them. Having one last Brady/Manning game would be neat, even if not in the AFC championship.

I would have to think Belicheck goes with Brady, too. New era has to come sometime.

I lived out in Boston for a few years shortly after they won all their Super Bowls. Watching Manning beat them in the playoffs, and Eli beat them in the Super Bowl when every Pats fan was so cocky after their undefeated season was nothing short of pure bliss. Cockiest fan base I've ever been around; Belichick, Brady and Craft (although I do like him) are the holy trinity out there, and I for one am happy to see this team get taken down a peg or two.

One would think Tom Brady might be mad about the situation. He's restructured his contract to give the team more flexibility, and they're sitting $10 Million under the salary cap, trade away Mankins, start two rookies on the line, and the best they can get at the WR position is Julian Edelman? Why exactly did he restructure again?
