Is this sarcasm?

Team of the week: Baylor. Any time you go to Iowa State and come up with a win, it’s a big deal -- even if three teams have already done it now this season. Ames traditionally has not been an easy place to play, and Baylor made it look easy with a four-touchdown halftime lead on the way to a 49-28 win. The Bears dominated with 32 first downs and 601 yards of offense.

I guess that writer didnt see we're 3-11 or whatever in our last 3 years at home.

He also wrote (in the power rankings):

The Cyclones made the final score of 49-28 in their loss to Baylor respectable, but this was a game that was never in doubt. Baylor jumped to a 35-7 lead before easing off the gas in the second half. This always had the look of a bad matchup for Iowa State, which couldn't match the Bears' offensive firepower.

Spot on imo.

ROFL! FCS teams have won at JTS for two years in a row now. Just more proof that the "writers" at espn doesn't do any research.

2 close losses to K-State, another close loss to TCU last year, robbed against Texas. Take those wins and now were 7-7. That's just off the top of my head. Not to mention we destroyed Okey State's dreams there. Enjoy the publicity.

I think ISU leads the country in "almost wins" for the last 15 years or so.

They're all losses except for Texas. That was an actual robbery, but it's in the books as a loss, wrong as that is.

Close losses aren't any better than any other loss.

I was not making a point about close loses in the sense that they are a moral victory. The original article said it was not an easy place to win. What about close loses does not apply to this concept? I was only trying to point out that it really isn't a gimme win for anyone anymore. Which is something that has never been the case at least since I have been a Cyclone. (20 + years).
