I lived in NE and have family and friends in NE and i know they don't view IA as a rival. You are the one that is desperate for IA to matter to other schools. I'm sorry that other teams you want to be like don't think you are at their level.

Personally I think "we came out flat" needs to make a comeback, that was the predominant crybaby excuse for a while until "it's your superbowl" really took a firm grasp as the #1 choice of losers.

I think that is part of the perception problem. Iowa has a ton of rivals in conference, and ISU has none. Seriously Iowa is ISU biggest rival, but ISU is behind Wisconsin, Minny, Ill. As far as rivals go for Iowa.
I am sure that is it. I have been thinking it must have been just a coincidence that the start of fall ball Iowa was the jersey used by media to highlight their workouts. I bet there were ndsu jerseys on some too. Problem is the ndsu tackling dummies were running up and down the practice field so fast the pics didn't turn out.
I know for a fact isu is the only school that Iowa puts posters up for. Everyone fears the worst team in power 5 leagues. Except fcs schools of course.

Not sure if it's a rivalry when one side doesn't reciprocate. Iowa not respecting Minny, Wisky not respecting Iowa enough to actually have these be rivalries.

This is just my opinion, but this Iowa fan believes that ISU is the biggest rival, at least in football. However, it is not the game that means the most, or the one that is the most important. As an example, I wouldn't trade one conference win from 2002 for a win over the clones.
Another way to put this is that the ISU game is the one I least want them to lose. A loss to ISU will be replayed in the state for a year. A loss to Nebraska or Wisconsin, meh, not so much. They are more important games, but don't have the pain associated with a loss to ISU.
I'll take that hint. Surely a hawk fan who created an account on a cyclone fansite and has posted all week about the game isn't going to tell us the hawks don't care about this game. Even you could see how hypocritical that would be.

I disagree. With the new west division in the B1G the conference games will mean more and be more important. I'd much rather lose to ISU, than Wisky, as if I had to watch those ****s go to the title game that loss would hurt a ton more. For instance I'm GLAD Iowa lost to ISU in 2002 instead of Wisconsin or Minny, as those losses would have cost us a conference title. There was nothing better than kicking Minny's azz, and then tearing down their goalpost celebrating a conference title.
You are correct about ISU though, as they won't be winning the Big12, so who cares if they lose to KState, Texas, etc. If ISU loses to Iowa, they have to hear about it from arrogant Hok fan.
