***Official ISU/KSU Postgame Thread***

Your contention is contingent on KSU playing well. They didn't, and we still lost.
Like I said- reasonably competent. You are just proving my point of how low the bar is by suggesting losing due to an inability to make simple plays is more than reasonably competent.

I remember when ******* away a win in which the other team played like they were asleep made me feel like last week did.

If you think they played like they were asleep you don't watch a lot of football.

I thought it was pretty strange that CPR was very upset about a no call on an illegal motion but he didn't seem all that concerned about the call that gave KSU the first down at the one right before the half.

You are right, they did wake up for the end of each half when things mattered.

We lost because we left a lot of (simple) plays out there, not because of how good KSU played. When that happens you played at a reasonably competent level. You are Rhoads bashing more than I am if you think that was more than our reasonably competent performance.

Unbelievable we lost that game. So many chances to win.

Why are we running it with AW straight up the gut?

West was big, but his two "drops" were huge. That INT should mute all those wanting Sam to force it every down. We do not have the receivers for that to work consistently.

We find a way to lose. I don't know how, but we just can't rise to the occasion and grab an opportunity. It just gets old. Feel bad for the guys. They work hard, but it just doesn't seem to matter. How do you install/instill mental toughness??

You don't think KSU played well? Well, once again, I thank you for proving my point.:notworthy:

Why? Go watch the Iowa game and you'll see a team that just finds ways via the qb to win down 10 with 3 min to go. Richardson has yet to win a game. I'm not saying he's bad I'm saying there are some players who just find a way to get it done late.

Why do people not remember that he sent us to a bowl game 2 years ago?

You mean Jantz and Barnett?

No. Richardson played in the game against Kansas after Jantz and Barnett proved for the 150000000th time that they were unable to play the position. Richardson lit up the board and we got our 6th win of the year.

Iowa playing a bad Ball State team, vs ISU playing a Bill Synder coached top 20 KSU team. You really cannot compare the two.

Did D'vario Montgomery play at all? I was talking to a friend who swears he was playing for awhile in the first half, but I don't ever remember seeing him in the game.

yes he played quite a bit. Mostly he was running his man defender deep so Jarvis could sit down underneath.

Spiking the ball to stop the clock (twice) when the clock stops after a first down. Smh.

Good of effort but another donut in the second half. I bet about 90% of cyclone fans saw that loss coming once K-State got the ball back on the last drive.
The only reason that 90 percent isn't higher is because some of our fans are only 4 and younger

Ball St. may be a bad team, but they have won 19 games the past two years which neither we or Iowa have done. I'd rather have a win than talk about how bad Iowa's opponents might be.

All I am saying is it is easier to come back and win against a bad team than a good one. In the 4th qtr it was like Ball State wasn't even playing D.

So tired of this being my experience with ISU football:

But I'll be back next week because I'm a glutton for punishment. And an eternal optimist.

Just got to watch the 2nd half. You have to credit KSU for making plays.

I liked Nealy a lot and I think he needs more touches, but maybe he doesn't block as well as Wimberly.

Sam needs to get comfy with Lazard and using him like Lockett. Not many DB's will be able to out jump or compete with him. Use it. Thought Waters was effective in Snyder's scheme, Sam has better arm.

Defense so much better. I think we will continue to see improvement as our Juco guys get comfortable. losing Cotton-Moya was big last week. Thought Mutcherson looked good too.

Not going to panic about the second half, KSU has a very good Defense, and they made plays. The pass break up that was over the middle going to Daley was nice, Mueller was good, and the T/O. They play hard disciplined and make you make plays.

Schnikey's. On that last drive they let KSU hold big time. And throughout the game as well. LB completely missed his gap on that last Waters run.

As our Offense is installed fully I think we will be much better. Really need Sam to get a big win for confidence and get him some swagger. Hopefully, it is next week in Kinnick.

Our last drive WR's need to make plays. Really miss Bundrage IMO. Jarvis had a great game, but needed to make that catch, then who knows.

Liked Mangino on the sideline. Lots to look forward to.

Beat Iowa!

I don't know how anyone can think KSU played a good game. Yesterday was not at all Snyder football and if the roles were reversed, we would be saying how bad we played. KSU had tons of penalties (10 for 77 yards) and killed a lot of drives with them. Also, after we went up 14-13, KSU just looked shell shocked the entire game. My seats were right behind the KSU sideline and there was zero emotion. They were lucky to put it away, but that was not at all a well played game for KSU.
