He had a suspension looming. They couldn't afford to keep a backup who wouldn't be available.

Actually saw him at the game on Saturday, he was cut by the Eagles at the first cut..... The 4 game suspension hurt him I believe, believe he will get picked up after that passes.....
He was cut. Being suspended for violating the NFL drug policy and having a history of injuries isn't a good recipe for NFL success.
He's suspended the first four games and is currently jobless (NFL anyways).
Another thing to think about: AJ Klein and Jeremiah George were drafted, Jake Knott went undrafted. Contracts could have an influence on their job security.
I don't think he will. With that in his past, all his injuries, and not looking like he would play much on D, I don't see him getting picked up for a roster spot.
George can work his way up. Doesn't surprise me though, he is 'under-sized' for an NFL linebacker. If he were 3 inches taller, be a totally different story.
Knott was picked up by the Dolphins and has been activated from the practice squad as of Dec 9. Maybe we'll see him out there Week 15.
