Detroit street view pictures

Reminds me of looking at google street views of East St. Louis. Was once 80+ thousand and is now 26 thousand or so in population.

Note to self, if a hole appears in your roof, dont nail a piece of plywood to the roof to patch it.

Why aren't the show runners for The Walking Dead capitalizing on Detroits downfall? Pre fabbed sets the size of an entire city.

Looks like they need some work.

That really is very interesting to look at. Really sad how much that city has declined. Figured most of the houses that ended up being burned down were used for cooking meth.

I just passed through there last weekend and hit the Tigers/Twins game. I also took a few pics. It is desolate in spots, but not completely dead. Some areas you don't sit at the red light, just kinda roll thru...

The reality really sets in when you consider the timeframe - sometimes just a year from nice to nothing. It would be somewhat bearable if those pictures were showing a natural city migration over 15 or 20 years, but it's instead showing the rapid downfall of a major metro area over an epicly short time period.
