Drinking Water ruined?

Re: Drinking Water riuned?

Oh. My pipes are clean. But, they do treat waste water here and put it back into the drinking supply. I know the hydrologic cycle and filtering, but I'd like to not think of fairly recent whiz in my drinking water

Where does your delivered water come from?

...And now you have "food items that look like feces" in your Google history.

Edit: Ha, this one works on a couple of levels here!

Re: Drinking Water riuned?

Explained this to my 3-year-old recently. Apparently 3 is not the age at which you should teach this fact.

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to try that one.

I will say, though, that my son's bath last night had to be at least 5% urine. I did not run him a new bath. :spinny:

Re: Drinking Water riuned?

A lot of it is run through additional filters though. Just basically letting a city do the initial water gathering and filtration for them. Some of it often just comes straight from a city's pipes, but you can usually tell which ones those are by the taste.

Years ago when we did stadium shows one of the staff would come around with bottles of water on a few particularly hot days. I think it said on them that the source was the Louisville municipal water supply. They were not chilled and sitting in the sun so on those hot days they were probably about 95-110 degrees. They were worried that we were going to get dehydrated so they would stay there until we drank our water. That stuff seriously smelled and tasted like glue.

Re: Drinking Water riuned?

Its all about PR... City would get so much crap from the citizens if they knew someone urinated in the drinking water and they gave it to the people to drink. In reality, its plenty diluted.

I've seen utilities have to drain huge above ground storage tanks because some idiots through glow sticks in them (they have some toxic chemicals).
